Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.
Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.
Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.
This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.
A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.
Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Comment by Idaho Spud on February 26, 2013 at 12:43pm Carl, your video brings back memories. I never saw the show or movie, but those songs were on the radio when I was dating. I liked The Age of Aquarius and especially Good Morning Starshine.
Comment by The Flying Atheist on February 26, 2013 at 11:20am Chris, that's a mind-boggling video from NASA. When the earth-size representation was shown on the screen I said to myself out loud, "Wow....." The size of our universe and everything in it is overwhelming. Thanks for sharing.
Melinda, LOVE the quote. So true. Consider it stolen and now in my possession. :)
Booklover that is such a sweet story about your mom paying for things for your family and how you pay for things for your kids - so sweet.
I really agree with the higher power quote - that's so true. They are hypocrites.

Comment by booklover on February 26, 2013 at 7:57am That's so awesome of you Carl! My Mom has more money than we do, and she is alone, so I try and do lots of thoughtful things for her that don't cost $$, and, of course, I will take good care of her as she ages.
Amazing movie
Comment by The Flying Atheist on February 25, 2013 at 9:15pm BTW, Steph, I checked out your photos from the Whopping Crane Fest. Love the Tri-colored Heron. Beautiful. Where was this located? I know Southern Texas and South Padre Island are big birdwatching places during the winter months.
Comment by The Flying Atheist on February 25, 2013 at 8:57pm Sorry, folks, but I just couldn't resist. Three more gems from "Hair" the musical, movie version........
Comment by The Flying Atheist on February 25, 2013 at 8:18pm I totally understand, Melinda. My parents have done such much for me throughout my life, so it's indeed a pleasure to be able to do the same for them. And that makes me happy as well.
Comment by sk8eycat on February 25, 2013 at 8:08pm LOL!!! I used to work with a girl from Birmingham (Alabama), and she pronounced my "real" name as "Aline." One day I missed rehearsal, and she was all over the place asking "Where's Aline, where's Aline?" The choreographer heard her, misunderstood, pointed to the ice, and said, "The. Line. Is. Right. Over. There!"
I sometimes wish reincarnation was real; I'd like to come back as the most spoiled calico EVAH!! (Spayed, of course.)
