Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.
Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.
Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.
This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.
A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.
Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Comment by The Flying Atheist on February 19, 2013 at 9:17am Chris, I'm glad to hear to didn't give up licorice. I sure love that Scandinavian licorice!
Comment by Idaho Spud on February 19, 2013 at 9:14am Chris, I like your way of thinking.
Don't be afraid of the veggieburgers, Ruth, you'll die anyway. When I look back on all my bad habits in the last 50 years the veggieburgers won't kill me. Up till now I kicked smoking, junk food, drinking more than 2 glasses of alcohol, carbo hydrates, almost kicked eating salty liquorice - but I still live in a rather traffic polluted street and I'm even starting a vegetable garden here four floors above the traffic. I refuse to be too precise; it makes life unpleasant.
Comment by Ian Mason on February 18, 2013 at 11:54pm Patricia, that's hilarious.
Ruth, hope your brain comes back tanned and rested.

Comment by Ruth Anthony-Gardner on February 18, 2013 at 6:35pm Guess I prefer different music than you do, Napoleon. I found Iggy Pop new values lyrics too Dominator for my taste.
Tea and telly sounds cozy for a cold Denmark evening, Ian.
I used to enjoy veggie burgers, Chris. Then Is read that they were processed in a way to possibly have neurotoxic hexane residue. Now I'm afraid to eat them.
My brain is on holiday this evening. Bye all.

Comment by Ian Mason on February 18, 2013 at 10:55am Thanks, TFA. It's a cold evening in Denmark so tea and telly is on the agenda. Hope the beans and burger taste good Chris.
Have a really nice whatever-the-time-is all.
Well timed, Flying Atheist, I'm cooking the evening meal (beans and veggieburger). Thanks and have a nice day to all of you!
Comment by The Flying Atheist on February 18, 2013 at 10:10am Good Day and Happy Monday to you all. I've been working like a dog (sorry, not like a cat) and finally have a nice stretch of days off.
Melinda, have a GREAT trip to The Keys. There are some wonderful sunsets there. I know you'll have a very nice and relaxing time with your family. You all sound like so much fun when you get together. (How's that for good English?)
Nice to see you back Felaine. You're missed tremendously when you're away on your little jaunts. What a time to be away! So much happening in the news. BTW, this past weekend I was just in your neck of the woods. The hotel I was staying at by LAX was hosting a Doctor Who convention. Major geeks, nerds and costumes all over the hotel. What fun! I'm not a Doctor Who fan, but I somehow felt that I fit in with that crowd. LOL
Joan, thanks for the posting the NASA photo. I'm continually amazed at how beautiful and awe-inspiring the depths of space can be. It's such a paradox.....so beautiful, yet so hostile.
I wish all of you a great day. And to all our European and international friends.....a great evening.
