Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.
Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.
Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.
This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.
A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.
Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Comment by sk8eycat on February 18, 2013 at 2:23am I really missed you all...there was so much going on in the gnus, and I needed many kindred "spirits" to discuss it all with! ("with whom to discuss it all"?)
Anybody else planning to watch "Hubris" on MSNBC Monday evening? It's on at 9PM ET, 6PM PST....Check their web site for your time zone.

Comment by Joan Denoo on February 17, 2013 at 11:57pm Steph, cat on keyboard looks as I feel. Cat for pope; he could not do any worse.
Grinning Cat, cat on a keyboard; am I seeing a trend here? Ah Ha! I was right, there is a trend of cats on keyboards.
Tony Carroll, "Truth" sign is what we need right now! and a lion with courage. Oh! How we need courageous leaders.
sk8eycat, welcome back; looking forward to some good conversations.
Well, dear friends, that's all for today. Nice to end the day with your fun and funny contributions.

Grinning Cat - love the lolcat.
Nice to have you back Felaine - I missed you. Yes, there has been lots of news on lately about shootings.
Comment by sk8eycat on February 17, 2013 at 10:02pm O HAI! I'm back from spending almost a week with Debonair Duncan (and I forgot to take my camera again!) Looks like I have a lot to catch up on.
How is every buddy? I'm a little tired (and blind); I spent way too much time glued to MSNBC. It all started Tuesday afternoon when the rogue ex-cop and his arsenal staged a shoot-out with various law enforcement orgs in Southern California...he killed 4 people before he shot his own self inside a burning rustic cabin. This isn't very nice, I hate to say this, but I'm glad he's dead. Saved the survivors a lot of pain, and the taxpayers a LOT of money.
Then there was the rousing SOTU speech that had me cheering, and what's-his-name's awkward drink of water, and the same old same old "just say filibuster" from the GOPhers. Only they're saying it's not a filibuster (so what is it, then?)
About Rat-Boy in Rome...another "I hate to say this," but from some photos I've seen recently, it looks like the dirty old man is a major cat fan...unless the pics were all PhotoShopped.
That does NOT excuse his involvement in covering up the centuries-old "custom" of child abuse within the Crutch, but IMO even teaching small children that some supernatural being killed his own son out of "love" is also child abuse. (I wasn't heavily indoctrinated as a child, but I wonder how many children who are fear that their own parents might sacrifice them to that same invisible being.)

Melinda, are you driving to Key West? (I hope you're not taking a Carnival cruise! Those floating giant apartment buildings scare me!) Keep an eye, and a camera, on the lookout for Key Deer. They are amazing, dainty little things; worth the entire trip.
Have a wonderful time!

I have a little more to say, but not tonight. I have to get reacquainted with Pumpkin and Hairy Jerry; I came home smelling like a strange (to them) cat, and they've been ignoring me. As usual.
Tony, so true!
Steph, a feline cat-lick pope would do a much better job at "live and let live"! (S/he'd also recognize that every cat is the center of the universe!)
And thanks about the lolcat! Here's another apropos one....
