Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Hi Peeps!  Thanks Joan and Carl, yes we are having fun with our daughter home, but it's too short of a time already!  Friday late-afternoon through Sunday afternoon!  My Mom took us out for breakfast today.  We are just hanging out.  I like your term chin-wag Joan! Yes Carl, we laugh a LOT.  Well, WE think we're funny! ha ha :)

Our Labradork Molly just came inside.  She is laying across my lap for warmth. All 73 lbs. of her!  I have my feet up on the ottoman.  Soon my legs will be asleep!

Nice to see Richard Dawkins getting some support.  I have much respect for him.  Hello, Melinda.  Yes, we got snow here in Chicagoland last night.  Not too much.  Still sooooo cold, though.  Enjoy your visit with your daughter.  I have a feeling that the two of you do much giggling when you're together.

Spud and Tony, like you, the church signs bring a giggle, a frown and then a question as to their authenticity. I hope people will indicate the "real" signs" that reflect such narrow-mindedness.
I heard an interview this morning where a man said religion brings order to the world. I didn't know if I was going to choke or spit my coffee. He must not look at the order of the sky, or seasons, or days, or processes of life. I guess he sees only the wars between Israel and Palestine; jews and christians against muslims and muslims against blasphemers. Religion seems to be the common thread.

Melinda, Great billboard; I have not seen it before and I like the wording. Glad your daughter is home; do you have anything special planned or just a good old fashioned chin-wag? My cousin from New Zealand calls me for "chin wags"!
