Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.
Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.
Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.
This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.
A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.
Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Comment by Ian Mason on January 31, 2013 at 12:17am Hello all. I've been in England for a few days plus had a "jammed" computer.
Yes, Chris. The west European weather has been variable of late. As I understand it, it's a matter of whether the Siberian cold front dominates or the Atlantic wet-and-warm. Sort of Russia versus America for the prize of Europe. Seems familiar. Anyway, the British weather has chased me across the North sea and it's due to storm in here soon.

Comment by Ruth Anthony-Gardner on January 30, 2013 at 11:50am I've had the same problem, with black video boxes. But I thought it was my computer and didn't report it to Brother Richard.
BTW, it's 67 ° here in Bensalem, PA. We opened the back door for the breeze. Happy Jan 30th.

Comment by The Flying Atheist on January 30, 2013 at 9:47am Melinda, I think there may be a problem with the A/N website lately. For the past month or so I've been getting black boxes and videos that won't play as well. It usually corrects itself if I refresh the page.
Good morning, everyone. I've been a bit absent from here lately. Away from my computer because I've been working a lot, but I always catch up with all your posts and updates when I'm back in town. Great hearing from all of you. :)

Comment by booklover on January 30, 2013 at 9:01am Good Morning Friends! Raining here instead of snowing. I hope it doesn't freeze, I don't like that my son doesn't have enough experience driving on ice. I do have experience, and I find it really scary. I hope he doesn't get mad, but if it is icy, I'm driving him to work!
I couldn't see some of the pics people posted on here, it was just a black square.
I have seen that "meow choir," it's really funny!
Everyone have a good "over-the-hump" day!~ Melinda
The Cat duet went well with my first cup of coffee, thanks Sk8eycat! My cats didn't come and watch...
Strange weather indeed! Snow and ice last week and today heavy rain and temperatures of 50 Fahrenheit!
Thanks, Felaine! Even though Rossini didn't write it as a cat duet, a lot of it is music from Rossini's Otello, and it's good for a smile from this cat and music lover!
Another performance I enjoyed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dI2qnavDzng
