Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

So, I guess most of you here know that my dad died back in January of complications of Parkinson's disease. There have been times that have been rough since then, but I'd think it's all part of the process, so to speak.Today was Remembrance Sunday…Continue

Cute cat busy trying to unroll the tp, booklover! The bit in his mouth makes it so precious. I'm a homebody too.

Sleep well, everyone. We had a lovely sunny  day in the mid 50's here in PA.

Joan, that is a great quote about religious doubt being reason trying to free you!

On another note, here's a video a friend pointed me to, a well-done rapid-fire montage of history of our planet and our species: "Our story in 2 minutes".

Thanks Joan and Steph! I had a nice evening, but I still like being home better! Guess I am a homebody at heart! I love the saying you put up Joan about it not being "god" talking to someone, but Reason trying to get in! I should put that on my Facebook page. It was warm and raining here today, but tomorrow we are supposed to get 2-3 inches of snow. Such odd weather. And people don't believe in climate change! Have a good night my friends!

I once took care of a German shepherd who did something like this while I was at work....Her humans LOVED it! (They were going to get rid of the sofa, anyway.)

That sounds wonderful Melinda - I hope you all have a good time.

I love the lolcats you posted. Very funny. Cats are so wonderful.

Melinda, I know what you describe about being in the company of like-minded or accepting people. It is freeing to freely chatter without having someone jump down my throat. I do try, really hard, to give as good as I get with a little pepper thrown in for emphasis. It doesn't stop people from being caustic about non-believers, but they are just more polite during their next encounter.

Hope you have a great evening ...

And thanks for the great photos of cats and T.P. Priceless.

In that case, here's another one for you sk8eycat!! :) Love your story about the "decorating!"

Comment by sk8eycat on January 29, 2013 at 1:50pm

What IS it with cats and TP?  LOL!  I love ALL of them.

We had one 30+ years ago who "decorated" the entire house with just one roll when we were all at a day-long family gathering.  It llooked like he took hold of one end and very carefully dragged it in and out of each room.  Spectacular!
