Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.
Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.
Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.
This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.
A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.
Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

So, I guess most of you here know that my dad died back in January of complications of Parkinson's disease. There have been times that have been rough since then, but I'd think it's all part of the process, so to speak.Today was Remembrance Sunday…Continue

Comment by booklover on January 30, 2013 at 9:01am Good Morning Friends! Raining here instead of snowing. I hope it doesn't freeze, I don't like that my son doesn't have enough experience driving on ice. I do have experience, and I find it really scary. I hope he doesn't get mad, but if it is icy, I'm driving him to work!
I couldn't see some of the pics people posted on here, it was just a black square.
I have seen that "meow choir," it's really funny!
Everyone have a good "over-the-hump" day!~ Melinda
The Cat duet went well with my first cup of coffee, thanks Sk8eycat! My cats didn't come and watch...
Strange weather indeed! Snow and ice last week and today heavy rain and temperatures of 50 Fahrenheit!
Thanks, Felaine! Even though Rossini didn't write it as a cat duet, a lot of it is music from Rossini's Otello, and it's good for a smile from this cat and music lover!
Another performance I enjoyed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dI2qnavDzng

It turns out there already is a thread about "Church Signs" in the group "Fundies Say the Darndest Things!"
(I found another positive church sign today; I'll post it there.)
Comment by Ruth Anthony-Gardner on January 29, 2013 at 11:32pm Cute cat busy trying to unroll the tp, booklover! The bit in his mouth makes it so precious. I'm a homebody too.
Sleep well, everyone. We had a lovely sunny day in the mid 50's here in PA.
Joan, that is a great quote about religious doubt being reason trying to free you!
On another note, here's a video a friend pointed me to, a well-done rapid-fire montage of history of our planet and our species: "Our story in 2 minutes".

Comment by sk8eycat on January 29, 2013 at 6:25pm I once took care of a German shepherd who did something like this while I was at work....Her humans LOVED it! (They were going to get rid of the sofa, anyway.)
