Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Congrats Joseph!

Another Penn and Teller fan here also!

So true about water and homeopathy Grinning Cat!

Joseph, congratulations on your new feline family member!

sk8eycat, I hardly drink, but wonder if anyone has tried blind tastings of shaken vs. stirred martinis, just to set that myth to rest. (As if the gin wouldn't be plenty "bruised" in transport to the liquor stores!)

Speaking of liquid myths, if homeopathy worked, plain drinking water would be the most effective drug of all, since it would "remember" all kinds of things it had been in contact with.

I love Penn and Teller too sk8eycat. Oh sorry about getting the glass wrong I must have missed the title. I am a member of Alley Cat Allies. I gladly give them my money. : )

I LOVE Penn Jillette...AND Penn & Teller, AND their short "Bullsh*t!" videos about the buybull.  I would like to be as effectively outspoken about the ridiculous aspects of ALL religions, but I'm not nearly as clever.

Steph...Ummmm....I think that's a Martini glass...the caption was "I like them shaken, not stirred," which is the opposite of the way James Bond (and my father) always ordered his Martinis. They were supposed to be gently stirred so as not to "bruise" the gin.  As IF!

I thought of a drink name for cat charity (Alley Cat Allies or the Stray Cat Club...both local feral cat caretaker orgs) fundraisers... "Alley Brandexander." A bass-ackward Brandy Alexander...useta be one of my faves.   A cat couldn't drink it 'cause it has Creme de Cacao in it...AND brandy.  But I would still like a small sip...more than a tbsp of anything stronger than wine gives me a migraine...

Hey sk8eycat, we've got a cat!  My wife went next door, to check on the her 3 cats.  She heard a meow and a cat came up to her. She picked up the cat thinking that one of the cats got out.  She opened the door and saw the 3 cats!!  The cat that she picked up was not one of the neighbors cats.  The cat followed her to our house and came right on in.  It was 15 degrees out side !!  He is potty trained, a well kept cat!  We checked with the neighbors as to who owned the cat and nobody did!!  He is ours until the owner shows up!  We are not going to canvas the neighborhood!  We figured that whoever let the cat out in 15 degree weather doesn't deserve him!!  The owner should look for the cat although we don't expect them too!  This cat had to be let out against its will because he sure wouldn't go outside when we held the door for him!!  We named him Bob, because he has only half his tail, which he was born with!!
