Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

This photo essay shows the remarkable benefits of replacing a secular government with a religious one. The fate of Egypt is quite an endorsement for the superior morality of religious rule.I was a bit surprised by the extent to which the temporary…Continue

Steph, the wrongly assembled cat is funny, and the cat with the knitted had had me laughing much.  Thanks.

Sk8eycat, you can run, but you can't hide.  God will find you and smack you down for ending a sentence with a proposition :)  BTW, may I call you skycat?  I have a hard time remembering how to spell sk8eycat.

I was going to make a comment at 12 noon and 12 minutes and 12 seconds, but I'll probably be at the library at that time.  Just thought it would be fun to write 12/12/12 12:12:12

Ian, glad to know I can ignore that rule (I was going to anyway:)

Grinning cat, thanks for the interesting article.  I often get technical and nit-picky, but I don't think I'm a pedant (new word for me), as I'm not trying to put anyone down.  I just appreciate accuracy and precision.  However, I'm far from perfect, so I try not to nit-pick too often and be called a hypocrite :)

That reminds me of a post I responded to on the Peanuts Comic Strip 2 days ago.  One guy said he had "winter for a month now", and was corrected by another that said "You’ve had extremely cold weather for a month. You haven’t had ANY Winter yet."  It irritated me, so I responded with "Some people may have a need for an official (arbitrary) start of winter, but not me. Winter starts when I say it does. Don’t give a harry rat’s patootie when the arbitrary one starts."

That started me thinking.  Is there a practical reason for a set time to start winter?

Oh noes! It's 12-12-12 the end of the world! And we are still here.

Ha!
They were wrong. No end of the world.

Cool booklover! Love the LOLcat.

Hope everyone is doing well.

I forgot to say Happy 12-12-12!  This will be the last same number 3-digit date any of us will ever see.  The next one will be (30)01-01-01, right?  Or am I REALLY bad at math?! lol.  If there are any people left on the Earth by then! Only half-joking!!!!
