Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.
Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.
Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.
This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.
A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.
Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Comment by Idaho Spud on December 11, 2012 at 4:53pm Cute pug video Ian.
Comment by booklover on December 11, 2012 at 3:50pm Ian, my daughter showed me that pug video a while ago. It's adorable! I think the one she showed me had an explanation as to why the dog cannot run. There is something wrong with it (not fatal). I think it's something to do with his brain. Sorry I can't remember the story, but the dog is fine, and HOW ADORABLE!!!!~ Melinda
Comment by Ian Mason on December 11, 2012 at 3:26pm The pug is something one of my nieces posted on FB. She's animal-mad and has dogs, cats, reptiles and I don't know what else.

Makes no sense at all. You describe the conditions terribly accurately.
Comment by Joan Denoo on December 11, 2012 at 2:55pm sk8eycat, sorry, unable to open pug video.
Comment by sk8eycat on December 11, 2012 at 2:52pm Speaking of pugs (or whatever this is)
Comment by sk8eycat on December 11, 2012 at 2:49pm Ian, WHERE did you find that pug video? I'd love to send it (or a link) to one of my doctors...he's a pug fan. Actually he's totally silly about pugs.
Thanks for posting that! It drowned out my sister's daily whining on the phone with her Witless friends.
Comment by sk8eycat on December 11, 2012 at 2:45pm Joseph, I read the article and all the comments. Ew. People scare me! The believers are outnumbering the more rational commentators, and their posts are getting many more "plus" votes. I added my 2-cents worth, but I know we're a minority.
Local floods are entirely possible/probable, but we all know there's not enough water and/or ice to cover the entire planet to a depth of 5 miles.
I keep thinking of 8 people sealed inside a box with thousands of animals eating and defecating, and no way to clean the mess out. I used to "work" at a very elegant cats-only boarding "hotel," and we spent most of our time scooping, scrubbing, vacuuming...plus we had a state-of-the-art A/C and ventilation system. The very last thing we wanted was for clients to come in the door and get a whiff of ammonia. The "hotel" was one huge room, with each cat separated from the others by 5 ft or more, and the maximum number of "guests" was 35.... (I loved the place!)
The entire "ark" story is just incompossible, and the adults who still believe it frighten me.
