Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

I forgot to say that I had seen an article a few years ago about the Dutchman's smaller version of "Noah's Fictional Ark," and it mentioned that he was building a "full-size" version.  Hah!  Looks like he missed a few pertinent details; the buybull specifies ONE window, and ONE door.

The Hebrew storytellers didn't know Jack Schidt about boat-building OR animal care; if there was no way to keep everything clean, ALL of the "passengers" would have been sick before less than half the "40 days and 40 nights" were over.

So, is the guy now going to go all over the world collecting the specified number of animals?  Will he include saltwater and freshwater fish?  How will he keep them alive?  How about insects?  (Why save things like fleas and mosquitos?  And tse-tse flies?)

The Flood is one of the most childish stories in the entire book, and yet educated adults keep funding expeditions to "find" the ark...that never existed.

I'd rather believe in Santa Claus.

I'm not really as irritated by punctuation errors as I am by things such as "your" for "you're," "flare" for "flair," and similar malapropisms. Makes me wonder what's being taught in our schools.

Right now I'm making typos all over the place because my right hand is almost useless.  I do try to proof my posts, but sometimes I just miss things.  (Makes logging in to web sites where I'm already registered a hassle some days.) Having a small orange cat standing on my lap doesn't help either.

I think I'll go to Schwan's and order some comfort food...the cats like to snack on their diced chicken breast, and so do I. Nom, nom, nom!

Sorry you have to put-up with another Aaaarrgghhh! day Melinda.

Spud, glad you like the cat pics!

Ian, so sorry about your Mom.  I have had close relatives on both sides of my family with dementia, so I am not unfamiliar with it.  It is hard.  I will be thinking of you.  Come here to talk whenever you need to!!

Carl, I love that you called Chris "girlfriend" after all of our explanations of the meaning! lol.  So jealous you got to go to the Netherlands!  I have never heard of the Gay Games.  I just asked my daughter, who is bi-sexual, ( and I did ask her permission before I put that on here) if she had ever heard of them, and she hadn't.

I know I am not good with punctuation.  I should try harder.  My daughter was the copy-editor of her high school newspaper, and is a Journalism major.

Where's Tony?  Probably working hard this week like Steph!

I had another not-feeling-good day. Aaaarrgghhh! I am so tired of this.  I need to learn to just deal with it, as this is how I will feel until they find a different med, or treatment, or whatever.  Some people have worse situations!

Have a relaxing evening friends~ Melinda

Grammar and spelling is sometimes a problem for me, mainly because I get in a hurry and don't spend enough time proofreading.  I think it was yesterday that I posted something on AN, and used the word "too" instead of "to".  It was embarrassing because I almost never make that mistake, but I left it because I didn't want my post showing-up in people's mail-boxes more than once.  I don't know which is worse.

Joan, you said "what are friends for" and changed it to "for what are friends".  I use the first phrasing all the time and it seems every one does.  I didn't even know it was technically incorrect.  The second phrase sounds strange to me.

The Flying Atheist, my son-in-law puts nothing on Facebook that is true . I don't know if that works, or not.
I am on Facebook because my children and grandchildren use it. I have a wee bit of a problem because they like to play games, which I do not; they put in stuff like "I got up." and I just fly by those kinds of comments. Every once in a while they write something of substance or of importance to them and I feel honored to be a part of their lives.

I don't care for idle chatter, but everybody on this site has something to say or share or questions or answers to something. I leave my keyboard feeling enriched and enlightened. Mostly, I like everyone here.

sk8eycat, you accentuate a problem I am having and on which I am working. Grammar! I lose track of my verbs and fail to see them when I proof read. I find it only after I press "ADD Comment" or a few days later. Dang!. I will not be offended if anyone wants to take the time to correct me. I know, it is my job to do. But what are friends for. 0000ppppsss. But for what are friends?
