Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.
Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.
Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.
This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.
A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.
Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Comment by booklover on December 5, 2012 at 7:41am Carl, isn't that sad that people don't know what occupied means? Wow.
Felaine, have that surgery! I know, easier said than done, but if it is going to keep you from a terrible way of living life... We are all here rooting for you! I love your doormat. I've seen one that says "Go Away" and one that says "Warning: Dog can't hold his licker" lol.
Thanks Joan. I feel like I turned 45 and fell apart! It's like the doctors have to play a game called "What's wrong with Melinda now?" I was always such a healthy and athletic young person. Ain't life grand? ;) Wow, 3 babies at once! Love the baby bird photo that goes with your story! :) And, no, those aren't my pets. Just another photo I found on the internet.
Have a good middle-of-the-week everyone! :)
Comment by Joan Denoo on December 5, 2012 at 3:38am Felaine, I have been trying to figure out who you are. I couldn't remember anyone by that name or a story to go with it. Now, I realize you are sk8eycat. Right?
I am very sorry, I must have missed something and didn't make the connection. Indeed, I do wish you well; I would be "scared shitless" too. Do get well soon.
Comment by sk8eycat on December 5, 2012 at 2:33am Melinda, we have TWO doormats (front & back) that say, in very large letters, "OH NO not YOU again!" Nobody has ever noticed them. (It's kinda scary when some solicitor comes to the front door, we ask him/her to please leave, and they walk around the corner to the back door and ring that bell.)
Re: that Siamese kitten...my sister made the Cheezburger Front Page today (Tuesday) with that one captioned, "I smell nice!
I wish you well with your new doctor.
@Everybody: Thank you all for your kind thoughts. I must confess that I'm scared sh^tless; I'm either going to have to have surgery (on my NECK!), or there's a 75%% chance that I'm going to end up like poor Christopher Reeve. I've put things off too long.
I really wish I could give myself the monodigital salute. Maybe I can learn to do it left-handed...
Comment by Joan Denoo on December 5, 2012 at 1:39am booklover, I love your sox photo. Are they your pets?
Hope you have good outcome on your doctor's reports and really sorry you have to go back for labs. Keep us posted, and I am thinking of you.
