Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.
Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.
Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.
This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.
A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.
Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Comment by Joan Denoo on November 29, 2012 at 12:34am OK, if politicians will not make a helpful contribution, then who are our allies? Environmentalists, wage earners, foreign countries who feel or were in fact exploited, small farmers and home gardeners? Any others?
We're all working at the same project, Joan! But I'm not at all confident that politicians will make a helpful contribution - for me it's business as usual: hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
Comment by Joan Denoo on November 28, 2012 at 7:47pm Oh dear! I hope I don't lose friends over my net statement, but now is the time to start thinking and acting toward a next election. We know Obama won't be a candidate next time; who should be?
Someone who respects and honors:
* labor as much a capital?
* the environment?
*others of different nations, not to be exploited but to be empowerers of flourishing of all?
* water and soil and air?
Please don't "un-friend" me for my eagerness to build a healthier and wiser and more responsible population of the Earth!
World Population 7,081,949,110 and growing exponentially.
Comment by Joan Denoo on November 28, 2012 at 6:35pm Ian, I couldn't get the link but googled and found this one:
"Flee as a bird" & "oh didn't he ramble"
The first bit is "Flee as a bird" a typical New Orleans Dirge; the second part in march tempo is "oh didn't he ramble"
What a way to go!

Comment by booklover on November 28, 2012 at 4:02pm lol Ruth, yep it's too soon to talk about another election! You certainly don't belong in the adults that don't know technology! I am really impressed with all the things you have been talking about learning and doing! I just got my first smartphone and I'm slowly learning how to use it! :)
