Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.
Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.
Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.
This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.
A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.
Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Comment by booklover on November 23, 2012 at 6:25pm Ian, itchy caterpillar, lol. My husband has a mustache all winter, and shaves it off for spring and summer.
Glad you are here today Ruth and Patricia. :)
I actually got a smartphone! Our whole family switched from USCellular to Verizon, and the kids' phones are their 'xmas' presents, since they chose expensive phones, but hubby and I each got an iPhone4 for 'free' included in the package. Now. To learn to use it!!!~Melinda
Comment by The Flying Atheist on November 23, 2012 at 2:12pm I'm a little late.......but Happy Thanksgiving everybody! Hope you had a great day. I spent the day working, but was then able to enjoy the evening with my parents, sister and brother-in-law for one of Mom's exquisite traditional Thanksgiving meals with 'all the trimmings.' I'm thankful for family, friends and for this online community. You folks really are the best, and I appreciate everyone's unique contributions. Today I will be feasting on some great leftovers. It really doesn't get any better than that!
Comment by Patricia on November 23, 2012 at 2:01pm I did as well Ruth, no idea what was what.

Comment by Ian Mason on November 23, 2012 at 12:11pm Welcome back, Chris. Few people want to take responsibility for technology gone wrong.
I'll be glad when Movember is over. I feel like my top lip has been invaded by a very itchy catapillar.
Comment by Idaho Spud on November 23, 2012 at 11:02am Glad your computer is right again. It's disappointing to hear that about Dell.
Ian thanks for the lovely roses.

Comment by booklover on November 23, 2012 at 9:22am Glad you're back Chris, and that your computer-problems are over. Have a nice weekend!~ Melinda
I´m back - my pc problems are over! It took almost a month and I´m not at all happy about Dell, now I know how they are when your pc is out of warrantry. They want money first and refuse all responsibility for the help given, even kept my pc for no reason two weeks longer. I`m glad I phoned a pc maintenance company - they came within a day and fixed what Dell had done wrong within an hour!
Good to be back! And now there is all the reading up to do! Have a happy weekend!
Comment by booklover on November 23, 2012 at 8:21am You have a beautiful Friday too Ian. Love your mustache avatar! :)
