Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Great stuff FA, I love that kind of stuff.

Ian, Mozart is marvelous. Never had the pleasure of attending an opera, something to continue to look forward to.

Getting ready for work, will be home late, again. Until then, some Sunady funnies. Enjoy.

Ya'll have a fantastic day.

Ian, that must have been marvelous.  Mozart's music is fantastic, especially that opera.

Today I watched the full four-hour PBS Frontline documentary 'From Jesus to Christ: The First Christians.'  (1998)  It was very interesting.  It didn't address the issue of whether Jesus existed or not, but focused on how the beginnings of the christian church started as a sub-group within the Jewish community, which was itself a sub-group within the Roman empire.  Very interesting information about how the current political and social climate influenced each of the gospel writers during the different times they were written, which greatly explains many of the differences, omissions, embellishes and contradictions of each gospel.  (Inspired word of god, my ass!!)

This documentary finishes by just barely delving into the beginning of the fourth century CE when the Roman emperor Constantine converted to Christianity.  It's a sweeping overview of how the early christian church grew and came to power.  A fascinating story that was very engaging.  If you like history and the history of religion, I recommend viewing it.

I give it two horns up.

Doing fine thanks, Steph. Was at the opera yesterday and saw Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro". A pleasure from begining to end.

How about you?

Booklover that cat and tail LOL is just too funny. HAHA

I love that cartoon Patricia - it's so sad that people are so scared of Atheists and look at how much we (they) have accomplished.

Useless trivia, Melinda: the German slang word for penis is ein schwanz, a tail.

Pretty balloons, Ruth. Stealing them of course. Thank you.
