Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.
Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.
Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.
This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.
A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.
Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

So, I guess most of you here know that my dad died back in January of complications of Parkinson's disease. There have been times that have been rough since then, but I'd think it's all part of the process, so to speak.Today was Remembrance Sunday…Continue

Ruth, thanks for starting this group. It, and you, are terrific!

My pc is back, but it doesn't work as it should - it takes full 5 minutes to build up an internet page.. so here I am on the antique laptop. At least I can read how you are and wish you a happy Saturday. My day started with a small celebration: partner and I have been together for 35 years today! And because we're not at all tired of each other we planned to do some more rounds around the sun together.
Comment by Ian Mason on November 17, 2012 at 1:01am Great mouse, Ruth. Stealing it for use around and about. Getting to the age when it will be relevant more and more often.
Comment by Ruth Anthony-Gardner on November 16, 2012 at 11:31pm Sorry to hear about your back, booklover.
Thanks for the cute puppy pic, and the others too.
Flying Atheist, those dancers move too fast for me. I kept thinking about the woman's brains sloshing against the inside of her skull. Still, it was cheerful and peppy. Thanks.
With all of you sharing your lives, I feel as if Hang With Friends has become the friendly place I'd envisioned. Thanks to all of you! Happy to see you like our fellowship Kalliope. :)
I've been trying to get back to the gym, and it's hard. Not productive mentally. Sweet dreams, All.
Comment by Ian Mason on November 16, 2012 at 10:16pm I'm perked, FA! If someone named Mohammed made a film like that now, he'd have a Death-Fatwa coming his way PDQ.
Back pain! Real torture when you can't find a position that gives relief. Get well soon, Melinda.
