Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.
Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.
Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.
This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.
A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.
Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Comment by Idaho Spud on November 11, 2012 at 11:49am I, too, think the KKK is horrible, as well as anyone that do such things to their fellow humans.
Comment by Idaho Spud on November 11, 2012 at 11:36am Tony, I love those beautiful gourds, squash, & melons on the arbor. Saved that pix to remind me to try that if I ever get some land.
Comment by Idaho Spud on November 11, 2012 at 11:31am Wouldn't want to meet that Canadian street gang.
Comment by Tony Carroll on November 11, 2012 at 10:07am I don't know Melinda. Could very well be. Also could be staged. It's from a "foodie" site, Slice of Life. They post photos that are staged. Some more examples;
and this;
another one;
all these are beautiful still life type photos, so they are staged. Just makes me wonder if the gourds/melons are also.
Whatever, it is beautiful. I like it!

Comment by Joan Denoo on November 11, 2012 at 2:13am Ian, what a horrid thing to happen to that man! How cruel. Jeez from where do they, KKK, think in those terms? It is just beyond my understanding. Well, we know the Radical Right is way off base, but I had no idea that far off.
Steph, a nice scene for going off to bed.
Patricia, those bears look so warm and cuddly, even as I know better.
Well, it is bedtime and I have had a wonderful day. The snow is so pretty and today we had blue skies. Bitterly cold and very beautiful.
Night, Night.
That's horrible, Ian. But it seems smashing someone's spine is not a handy way to make him change heart again.
Comment by Ian Mason on November 11, 2012 at 12:51am A change of heart can be a dangerous thing. One Wizard of the KKK saw the error of his ways after many conversations with a Danish photographer and started preaching peace, love and understanding. He still does, but from a wheelchair. His former "brothers" smashed his spine.
Thanks for the posts everyone.
