Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.
Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.
Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.
This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.
A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.
Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Comment by The Flying Atheist on November 9, 2012 at 5:20pm Patricia, sounds like you've been faced with lots of adversity and have come out standing on top of it all. Good for you!!!!! It's obvious that the best part of you is your resilience from within.
Comment by Patricia on November 9, 2012 at 4:10pm No 'goals' for me either. I never saw the sense in new years resolutions......I just want to live my life as it comes. Sure I need to lose some weight as a lot of us do, but I will NOT diet. My stomach dictates what I eat anyway so I just watch portion size, & I am not into sweets or fatty foods....never was.
Comment by booklover on November 9, 2012 at 4:04pm Patricia, you have a wonderful attitude!
Spud, I LOVE coffee. I know Steph does too. I think a lot of people like the smell, even if they don't drink it. My husband doesn't like coffee or the smell!
They just called and asked my son, he's 18, if he wanted to work tonight (bagger at a grocery store), because someone called in. Today was his only day off of work and school, but he said yes right away. I wonder whose kid he is?! LOL I would never have said yes.
Comment by Patricia on November 9, 2012 at 4:04pm Quitting smoking was not hard for me....I just decided that those stupid looking sticks were not in control of my life & that was that.
Comment by Idaho Spud on November 9, 2012 at 3:20pm Booklover, glad to find another goal-hater :)
I never liked the smell of cigarettes, but I enjoy a small whiff of gasoline, skunk, and a sewerage treatment plant.
Coffee is another thing I enjoy smelling. When I was mormon, I often thought of indulging in the "sin" of drinking coffee because it smelled so good. When I finally escaped the Morg, I tried several kinds, but was disappointed. I don't like it at all.
