Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Ruth, I think of "Hang With Friends" as just that - a place to relax and share thoughts, jokes, things we think others would be interested to see.

That's what you and all the rest of us do in here, isn't it?  Who brought up the subject of trolling?  And why?

Fugeddabahdit!  Dis here is r clubhouse...everbuddy welcame.  Have fun, stretch the mind, meet new friends.

Ya dun gud.  Don't change anything!  Okay? {{{{Ruth}}}}

Love, Felaine

Ruth, I like the way you post, whether it is a link to an article, a copy, or a summary. Your posts always contain information in which I am interested. I also like your clarity on what you like and don't like, or suggestions to improve the comment. So, it may be "spam" or "trolling" and I benefit by what ever it is called. Thanks.

Ruth, I'm glad you like the pictures I find and share.  I think you are really smart and I love to read what you contribute!  You are not spamming!  You are contributing interesting information and amusing pics, etc. that we all enjoy!  Please keep on doing what you do!  Your friend, Melinda

Ruth, I agree with Steph. I LIKE what you put up, here and other places on the Nexus. Were friends, with (mostly) similar tastes. So why shouldn't we share with one another? Just keep it up. It makes you, and us, happy.

Interesting images, booklover. I keep going back to the cat-covered-guy, over and over. It's like replacing hair with cats. Black cat magnetism to clean white laundry?

On another topic, I'm thinking that much of what I do borders on trolling, based on this definition. (from Reddit)

Blog-spam (blog entries that lift content from other sources without adding significant value).

I often post images here without adding significant value. But, gee, I enjoy images you share with me. Images don't usually need more than to be shared, do they? I also post links to news articles in relevant groups with barely an introduction. Sometimes all I do is extract the key points. I thought this was useful, to share news. Now I question my contributions. I never heard the practice called spam before. *sigh*
