Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.
Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.
Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.
This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.
A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.
Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Comment by Sylvia on July 30, 2012 at 11:42pm I am about to post a conversation from a few months ago. I will start with the first post and work my way up. Hope you all enjoy it!
Comment by Joan Denoo on July 30, 2012 at 11:05pm Thanks. I reworded it for me from someone. I wish I had kept track of where I found it. I would reword on sentence:
"I am also a face and a target of religious hatred as a woman and as an ATHEIST." ...
I am not a victim, nor are any of us, IMHO.
Comment by Joan Denoo on July 30, 2012 at 10:38pm @ Sylvia, this is a manifesto I wrote for myself. You may get some ideas for yourself. This helped me clarify my position and face the hate mail I get on a regular basis. I also get a lot of affirmative responses as well.
"I am one face among many before me. I am a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, a best friend, an activist, I am 76 years old and I have participated in civil rights movements, marched, picketed, lobbied, debated, and worked for women's health and rights.
I am also a face and a victim of religious hatred as a woman and as an ATHEIST.
I will not concede to the Christian majority's opinion about what I should think or do as a body, a female, a human on this pale blue dot of a planet.
Religion lost the power to make me feel guilty when I was abandoned by the superstitions of religion.
I am good without god, and I do believe in something. I believe in humanity."
Comment by Sylvia on July 30, 2012 at 7:11pm I will see you all tomorrow! I'm out!
