Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.
Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.
Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.
This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.
A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.
Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Indeed, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Patricia. Have a great day and spoil yourselves.

Comment by James M. Martin on July 1, 2012 at 3:02pm Ian, Ian, don't get me started on another pet peeve. The more loudly they proclaim their Christeranity the more likely they don't know what it means or suspect they might not really believe it at all. Like little girls, beliefs are supposed to be seen, not heard, by which I mean actions speak louder than words.
Comment by booklover on July 1, 2012 at 10:47am Pretty picture Steph! We saw good fireworks @ the trap-shooting (clay discs, not animals!) club that my husband belongs to. We had a nice time and we were all together! I love that my almost 18 year-old and my 20 year old like to be with us! :) Have a wonderful 4th!
Comment by sk8eycat on July 1, 2012 at 1:46am I'm getting irritated: "Tea Party, "Tebow".... sounds too much like my favorite beverage.
Guess I'll have to go back to Coca Cola. Does anybody else remember Imogene Coca?

Comment by sk8eycat on June 30, 2012 at 11:02pm @Lillie: Thee is an unauthorized biography of El Ron (I forget the author's name) titled Bare-Faced Messiah. He said so many times that founding a religion was the easiest way to become a millionaire in the USA. He was right. It was certainly more lucrative than writing pulp fiction, which is how he started out. I think his WWII military record is mostly fiction.
As for Tebow...that self-righteous, arrogant S.O.B....I wish smoke, or some kind of vapor would pour out of his ears while he's doing his act in public so that the whole world can see what's really happening....
Actually, I'd like to see that happen to everybody who gets their jollies by praying in public.

Hello fellow atheists! I have joined this site in an attempt to find other rational individuals, such as myself, and to promote a current charity drive that I am trying to get going for the Oklahoma tornado victims. I have managed to get many groups from around my area, including the Beyond Belief Foundation to back me on this endeavor.
I am located in Newnan, Ga and have my own atheist group entitled "Coweta County Atheists". I am currently being backed by Spaulding Co.…

There is a video of the Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film. The man isn't demon possessed, there are likely no 'real' demons. He's just delusional and doesn't want to accept personal responsiblity for his own behavior for his own dysfunctional life.

There is an ad that reads ' Do you support 'traditional' marriage? Vote Now"! .
No, I don't support 'traditional' marriage because there is no such thing. I support heterosexual and same-sex couples marry each other legally , yes. 'Traditional' marriage promoters largely do not believe that heterosexual women are co-equal to their husbands. Their only purpose in 'traditional' marriage is to sexually satisfy their husbands if they can and raise children and do all…
