Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

I've been thinking of starting a discussion in one of the cat-fan groups...to see if anyone else enjoys feline detective novels. Does that sound too silly?

I imagined as our numbers grew, my contributions would dwindle to insignificance. What's wrong? Why don't people share stuff more? For example, I read about how surrounded new members often feel in their profiles, but that's seldom discussed. Is there some subtle way I'm discouraging member contributions?

One of my favorite series of books is Dune and the witches in the series are buried and then a tree is planted over them. So, I want to be a tree I just don't know what kind yet. I really like Japanese Maples, they are so pretty but a fruit tree would keep on giving. Here is the link for an article about the urn.

Update on Funeral, It was full of prayers and other bible scriptures. However, 10 minutes into it my cousin's husband has a seizure and dropped like a rock to the ground (he was standing). The weird part was I watched it play out since I was standing in the back and he went down in slow motion for me. If he had been 2" to the right he would have split his head open on a gravestone. My other cousin works in the medical field/ER so I was not concerned about his care she jumped right to it. All I could think about was "there's intelligent design for yah..." After they got him inside the pastor started back up where she left off, most interesting family funeral ever.

After driving past a couple of our way to our destination, we could tell we made the right decision...lines out the door!

On the topic burials, I would love to be composted, but I don't believe that option is available (or legal?) in the United States. I've already let my family know to spend as little as possible when the time comes, including no viewing and absolutely no funeral. I am toying with the idea of leaving my body for medical research, but that isn't compatible with organ donation. So in some respects, I still have to final decisions to make. I must admit that I have had close to ZERO experience in planning funerals, but I have a feeling I will be helping out when my dad passes. With his health problems, it looks like it will be sooner rather than later.
