Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.
Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.
Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.
This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.
A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.
Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Comment by booklover on May 6, 2012 at 6:21pm That is cool Jessica! My Mom wants to be cremated, and then, since we are a small family, just have a little party with some good food and drink, and maybe share a few memories.
Comment by Jessica on May 6, 2012 at 3:32pm This is what I would like when I die. I have been struggling with burial, science, or cremation but when I saw this I was sold. One of my favorite series of books is Dune and the witches in the series are buried and then a tree is planted over them. So, I want to be a tree I just don't know what kind yet. I really like Japanese Maples, they are so pretty but a fruit tree would keep on giving. Here is the link for an article about the urn.
Update on Funeral, It was full of prayers and other bible scriptures. However, 10 minutes into it my cousin's husband has a seizure and dropped like a rock to the ground (he was standing). The weird part was I watched it play out since I was standing in the back and he went down in slow motion for me. If he had been 2" to the right he would have split his head open on a gravestone. My other cousin works in the medical field/ER so I was not concerned about his care she jumped right to it. All I could think about was "there's intelligent design for yah..." After they got him inside the pastor started back up where she left off, most interesting family funeral ever.

Comment by Natalie A Sera on May 6, 2012 at 1:24pm About burial: it is my cultural tradition to bury to un-embalmed body in a simple linen shroud, and nothing else. (Whence the origin of the shroud of Turin). I would be perfectly happy with that, because the linen would decay rapidly, and my body would return to the soil. Too bad the law doesn't allow that, so we've substituted wooden coffins -- those decay, too. I don't really want to be a fossil, because I think there are enough examples of homo sapiens, but what I REALLY would like is for my body to be a hanging skeleton in a high-school biology classroom! But alas, they're all plastic nowadays -- waste of plastic when you could have the real thing! :-)
Comment by sk8eycat on May 5, 2012 at 9:57pm I had some leftover chicken breast that I had baked with bell peppers, onion, corn. I cut it up into small pieces and added some salsa and leftover jalapeno slices; nuked it all and rolled it up in a warm corn tortilla. (I forgot to add some avocado and cilantro) It was okay.
BUT:
I think what I'm really hungry for is a restaurant Chili Relleno .... or two.
YUM!
Comment by Jonathan Simeone on May 5, 2012 at 8:41pm Mexican food sounds great! I love spicy food. I like making chili. It's not yet warm enough for a Margarita.
