So, what are your holiday plans? And, if you're going somewhere with an even slightly different culture, how do you deal with that?
I was in Austria 2 years ago and the standard greeting, in the mountains anyway, was "Gruss Gott". To be polite I always answered "guten tag" but that seemed odd to most people.
This year, I'm off to Rhodos in May. Looking forward to it.

Permalink Reply by John on April 6, 2012 at 6:30pm Yes we're doing a big trip this year in May, first to a family wedding in Charleston SC (non religious I might add) then NY City for a week, after that two weeks catching up with family in the UK.
Finally two weeks in France, three days at Le Mans for me for the car race, and then meeting up with friends in Paris so we're brushing up on our french.
