Having watched a few beauty pageants back in the day (WAY back, actually!), some of the following is a little too close to real for comfort ... but POE is POE, I suppose.

It reminded me of "Jay-Walking" on the Tonight Show.  People seem to invent the stupidest answers to Jay's questions, or stand there going, "Duhhhhh."  Because they know that will get them on the air for at least 15 seconds.

(Andy Warhol said everyone will get their 15 minutes of fame, but with today's instant communications it's 15 seconds.)
