From EarthRights International:
Corporations claim they’re people when it suits them, to gain exemption from laws they don’t like, such as our campaign finance laws and food-labeling laws. They claim to have “free speech” rights just like people, trumping our democratically enacted public-interest laws.
Now the Shell Oil company is saying the opposite. It’s claiming that a law that's been on our books since 1789 should not apply to it because it's a corporation, not a person.
