Hey John. Welcome. I recently joined this group and am glad to know of another free thinking individual on the island.

How long have you been in the air force? Ive heard hear n there that the air force has encouraged, sometimes even pushed, christianity, have you experienced anything like that while serving?

Has anyone else heard about that at all?

Hey All, that Starbucks meeting was really great, it seemed like time went by way to fast.

Oahu gang, we have two more schedule meet ups, 14 Nov at 6:00pm for some food and drinks at Side Street Inn and 22 Nov at 11:00am for a Potluck Lunch at Alondra’s place. Please sign up on our meet up group www.meetup.com/hawaii-atheists/ and hopefully you can make at least one of these meetings.

Welcome Scott to Atheist Nexus, I think you’re going to meet a lot of interesting people here.

Calvin, I found it! Had a great time at Starbucks the other day. Looked at my watch when we left and about 4 hours had flown by. 1 hour of church was never that mentally stimulating.

No problem. It was really good. Almost as if everyone's dam was breaking and we just couldn't contain our thoughts now that they had listening ears to flow to. Alondra volunteered to host the next meetup, but we haven't set any dates yet.

I apologize for not attending the Sunday "meetup." Something unexpected came up. I hope you all had a good time.

Sorry for missing the October 11th meeting. I was at a friend's birthday party and couldn't really manage to leave. I'll try to make the last one.

Hey Calvin. Thanks for the greeting. It is great to know we are not alone on this rock that has been inundated by mormons, born-agains, jehovah's witnesses n other mysticism.

Im gonna have to miss the meet up on the 11th. As part of my work and research, I must attend the fishing n seafood festival going on at pier 38. should be some good grinds tho.

Im down to cruise in Nov. Im town side and watch football, so i might be biased against sunday afternoon on windward side. haha. i dont know. whatever's clever. keep me posted.

Oahu gang, our next schedule meet up is 11 Oct, Sunday at 1:00 pm at Starbucks Pearlridge Center for coffee and conversation. We may even go over to Anna Miller’s for some coffee and dessert.

If you’re interested in joining us, please sign up on our meet up group www.meetup.com/hawaii-atheists/

Howzit Adrian, welcome to our little group of heathens. I totally agree with you man, a nice casual bar for some drinks would be a good icebreaker. It’s one of the many things we are planning for, starting in November. If you got any other ideas, please let us know.

Bummer. At least its hard to complain about hanging out at kailua beach on a sunday. I do however think that anyone on AN would not be too hesitant to meet in public. Its not like there was gonna be some big sign or something...........there wasnt gonna be a big sign - was there? jk >)

Maybe a bar would be good for a first time meet. its casual. no one really knows or cares who's congregating for what reason. and there's a purpose - drink beer.

....i dont know. what does everyone think?
