Watch out, Vampire Calvin. Our newest member is named Buffy, who may or may not take after her vampire-slayer namesake (welcome, Buffy). I'd love to join your gathering but Honolulu is too long a walk from Hilo.

Hey Richard, how are you? I’m not too worried about Buffy; I become a day walker in February so I think I’m safe. Although I just got off work a few hours ago and the sun will be coming up soon, maybe I should worry?

Oh man... I will be so close to where you guys are meeting up, and yet so far. I have a matinee performance that day, so can't attend. Booooo

Gung Hay Fat Choy! Happy 4707, the year of the Tiger. The celebrations starts today and ends on the 14 Feb Chinese New Year. Can’t wait to eat some Gao.

So they talked physics? I guess I didn't notice- at 4 I had drank 2 beers, at 4:10 I'd drank 6.
One too many perhaps, but I was happy into the night. It is liquid happiness after all...
Besides the drink I certainly enjoyed the freedom to speak my mind to folks who think like I do, and still had the right mind to bash my offense over the MLK idea, which is a great idea which I would love to take part in.

Aloha y'all. I'm definitely glad I found this group. This just might be the best time in history to be a free thinker. Besides, who would want to spend time and company with anyone else? Dylan's memory may be failing him but Sladjan and I were nearly jumping on the table arguing about whether or not gravity could propogate in waves. Now if one of us had been a Christian and the argument was over whether or not Jesus had magical powers it would have been far more dull of a conversation and neither person would likely talk to the other again. Instead we discussed evidence and possible implications both with passion as well as respect and an utter joy in trying to unravel the mystery of the universe. There's no comparison between the discourse of the deluded and that of the enlightened.

I've been on the hell train, you think live after death is the goal of life you don't have room for logic or joy. My goals and aims in life are completely different from that time. As I said, religious moderates are ignorant of their religion, that or they ignore it.

Hey Jon and Dylan! Welcome to Godless of Hawaii… It was really great meeting you guys at Starbucks; I really had a lot of fun. Our next Hawaii Atheists, Agnostics, Humanists and Freethinkers meet up is “Wine Tasting and Conversation II” at the Amuse Wine Bar at the Honolulu Design Center 2nd floor, 24 February at 6:00pm. Roger, the other guy you guys met at Starbucks is thinking about maybe a dinner on the 22 Feb, but it’s still in the planning stages, he hasn’t posted it up yet. Welcome again guys, I’m sure you’ll have some great conversations here.

Hi William, welcome to our little group of non-believers and thanks for the friend invite. Some of us Oahu heathens started a meet up group, if you want to meet other non-believers, check out www.meetup.com/Hawaii-Atheists/
We have a wine tasting meet up listed below, but I wouldn’t recommended if you’re under 21, but one of our other guys just posted a dinner meeting 22 Feb at P.F. Chang’s near Ward Center at 6:30pm. If you’re not busy, sign up for dinner and meet some really nice people.

Death of a family member

OK. I am venting. My mother died two weeks ago. She was a “god fearing christian.” Before her death she refused all medical treatment. She wanted to be left alone. She even refused to speak with my brother who is a methodist minister. He is a pip, let me tell you! I suspect she did not believe, but a woman born in her time could not and did not state her actual beliefs. This is the opening salvo to all christians; FUCK YOU! I had so many people come and tell…

Unbelievable!!!!!!!!

This probably should not have shocked me as much as it did (especially since I am in Texas). I actually thought my coworkers were playing a joke on me because they know I am an atheist. Sadly, this was no joke. This actually happened.

I work in a psychiatric hospital. The doctors who admit patients are general MDs. (Psychiatrists see patients after admission) Yesterday evening we received several calls from irate parents. A new doctor who was doing admissions yesterday actually…

anti-atheist rant from an Orthodox Mormon part 2

What do you think of this,

Nathan Young,

No Jason Torpy it is you that should be banned for promoting atheism, a belief that has no foundation in reality and zero proof behind it.  The letter was a mockery of your atheist beliefs.  I request to the board here that they remove Jason for his unverifiable beliefs in atheism for which he has no proof other than his arrogance.  The letter was a mockery of atheism.  Atheism is stupid and it should be mocked and it…
