Thanks for the pictures Amer, they're so beautiful!

Comment by Randall Smith on March 15, 2013 at 7:24am Still too wet and cold to "dig in the dirt". My kale didn't winter over like last year. Whole garden starting from scratch, except for asparagus. Gotta get peas in--last year's leftover seeds.
Comment by Sentient Biped on March 15, 2013 at 6:35am Gotta find some valerian seeds now!
You're never sure what they like, but I had some cats who loved to be high on valerian. One also ate tomatoes...
Comment by Joan Denoo on March 15, 2013 at 1:54am I think you're right, Sentient, the peas will survive the frost and if I'm lucky the beans too - they came from a packet that said they were good for early growing. Haven't seen any rabbits yet.
Not all cats enjoy catnip, but you could try valerian.
Comment by Sentient Biped on March 14, 2013 at 9:48pm Amer, fig trees are so easy to grow from cuttings, many methods work. I like to to give them an early start. So I treat them special. Mine get a warm location, on a heating mat or a warm shelf. They will also root at normal room temperature. Or even in the garden soil.
Spud, glad to hear it! Spring is on the way!
Comment by Idaho Spud on March 14, 2013 at 2:36pm Beautiful fig Sentient.
Warm enough here to get my lazy self outside and doing yard-work for the last 3 days. Yay! Still haven't started any plants, but will in the next few days.
