It will take a while to move from the idea of a "neat lawn" to a productive, diverse yard as being beneficial and desirable.  The "neat lawn" is certainly less effort.  It's also, often, environmentally harmful, toxic, and does not provide food or variety. 

The pictured house has a great looking garden!  I like it!
