Natural Garden Pest Control

Place in a pot and bring to boil:

4 c. of filtered water, 1/2 onion, 2 garlic cloves, & 1/4 tsp. of cayenne pepper (or any other kind of hot pepper).

Grate about 1/4 bar of any natural bar soap you like.

Once your pot of goodies are boiling, add that soap. Stir while cooking an additional 2 min. or so, and once the bubbles start to rise, remove it from heat.

Cover it with a lid and let it all that sit together for about 20 minutes.

Once it cools, add to a heavy duty spray bottle and spray on your plants!

Since this is made from real food, store it in the fridge. Spray on plants about once a week.

Thanks Joan! I had a recipe like this, but where...?

what does the pepper do

Good question. I don't know. I do know that chewing bugs, squirrels, deer and rabbits don't like the hot pepper and it doesn't bother birds.

Many people recommend all sorts of chemical products. A natural garden pest control recipe is a natural deterrent against bugs in a vegetable garden. This recipe uses garlic, cayenne pepper, & onion to deter bugs, and homemade soap to help the spray adhere to the leaves.

But the soap would break down the. Hot oils in the pepper

I'll have to do a little checking. ...Here is a site with instructions for homemade pest control
