S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series is awesome man, i wasn't aware that they released another one. The second one wasn't as crazy-awesome as the first one.

Well, I suppose I could actually post in this group once in a while.

I've been playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat all weekend and so far this week. It's a nice break from the shitty FPSes that seem to be proliferating lately like MW2. Finally some guns with some damn recoil. Better than the previous two S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s, even with their awesome mods, and this is the first one that's well optimized and not buggy on release (though I did have to download a mod that turned off prefetching to get it to stop stuttering, but I blame my low RAM for that). Exploration, survival, good combat, lots of guns and customization, and massive open maps. Seriously, this game is sucking my time away. Hopefully I'll beat it soon and become bored with it so I can go back to being productive.

I also got the new AVP game, figure I'll install that soon enough. I don't really expect it to be great, but man do I want to play as a predator.

As far as I can tell, it's only 'Dante's Inferno' in name only. The only thing that relates it back to the Divine Comedy is that you have Dante going through the nine levels of hell. A friend and I were able to beat the game in pretty much one sitting. Only took about 5-6 hours, and there isn't really that much motivation to play it again, so if you want to play it, I would highly recommend a rental over a purchase.

@ Motrin - GoW is an excellent game. It doesn't frustrate me that Dante's Inferno copied it as much as the fact that they executed it poorly. For example: In GoW, to rotate a lever you rotate the analog stick in a circular motion in the same direction that you are moving in the game. With Inferno, you hold the annalog stick in one direction (left or right) which seems like it would be simpler but actually feels less intuitive. The environmental puzzles are frustrating because of the forced camera angles not because they are clever. The beasts that you ride look cool but they move SO SLOWLY that if you need to do something quickly then you're better of getting off and doing it with Dante... but of course you can't dismount. If you don't grab your health and magic before you get on one then kiss it goodbye.

It's nothing like the Divine Comedy actually. The plot is actually kinda goofy. It's not all bad though. The in-game character models are pretty awful, especially up close, but the cinematics are gorgeous. I wish they would have done the Divine Comedy as just a high end animation. The combat feels pretty good and is fairly satisfying. Except for the puzzles the action moves along well. I like the weapon upgrading, the magic, and the relics which you can equip two at a time to add tweaks to your abilities. For example, one of them in particular gives you an extra second between moves to keep your combo chain going. You can level it up to 3 seconds by using it. Nice.

It's not a BAD game by any means. I haven't gotten bored yet and I'm almost finished. It could have been SO much better though. If you are ONLY getting it BECAUSE you heard that it's like GoW and you've never played GoW, then I'd recommend trying GoW Collection for PS3 instead. If you played the demo and enjoyed it then you'll probably like the game OK though.

I doubt I'll play Bioshock 2. Didn't like the 1st one. I hate first person shooters.

@casey i can't wait to play bioshock 2. and about the graphics i think i read on the steam forums that the graphics are the same from the first game. bummer if its true.. I would suggest finishing the first one, but i guess it depends where you stopped. If you found out the true meaning behind "would you kindly" then i think your set to go for the second game.

@LaVaughn what if i heard of Adidas but never actually seen it... well i mean i never played God of War, so would enjoy the game still? is their enough fun in even tho it jocked everything from another game! even if the game kinda sucks i will probably keep playing just because you can play though the divine comedy, something that intrigued me since i was a kid.
