Well, I guess after starting my second MMO, playing 100 hours of Borderlands, and nearly 100 hours of L4D2....I can call myself "one who plays the video games".
Greetings. I'm currently on Glitch(it's a combo of Harvest Moon and has the quirkiness of Katamari Damacy) as Masco.
I'm on Steam under JonelB.
And now my credentials:
-PC is my console(but I want to eventually branch into real consoles--I have a N64 that is semi-retired as I am protecting it from my sister who wants to sell it for like $10--in another 10 years it'll practically be an antique *clutch*) but I do have a PS2 emulator and a usb controller and I need to get some more PS2 img's to play with than just Katamari Damacy.
I currently play:
-L4D2(I fully admit to being mediocre at this and enjoying it most when people listen to me when it comes to strategy--I have grown a love for dual pistols and the sniper rifle, as well as the katana and any of the automatic rifles. I did get some training in on shotguns, though. Usually I chose weapons based on what everyone else had, so sometimes I didn't get my faves.)
-Minecraft(Legos! In digital form! I've built a few smallish things. I also love cave-spelunking)
-Team Fortress 2.....but not much. I completed the Training. I need to train more because I feel rather inept at fighting still.
-Glitch(mmo)... I've gotten to like level 14 and it does vaguely remind me of farmville(in that you're able to farm) but the gameplay is quirky and similar to Katamari, as well as cute. I'll probably have the entire left side of the skill table filled up by the end of the week.
I have played:
-Bioshock(...still need to re-install and finish it)
-Borderlands(but I finished this twice!)
-The Sims(yeah, stereotypical, but I mostly used it for building houses and making families of 8 and then torturing them--don't look at me like that, it has the highest violence possibility quotient of any game)
-Portal(90% finished...I just have shitty reaction time and very little patience)
-DOMO(Dream of Mirror Online)[first mmo](I easily spent 4 months of my time on this game)
-Torchlight(again, did not finish)
-The Path(I did finish this one! It's nothing like a traditional game, though)
I own but have not started:
-Assassin's Creed(just got this for $5 the other day)
-Dragon Age: Origins(well I played like 12 hours worth, during one day. And then I haven't played it since...)[I also got this for like $16--literally the same month it came out. It's why I grabbed it, I figured it would be good--I was okay at it, but it pissed me off that I'd just beaten an army of monsters and then I was getting my butt kicked by 4 thugs outside the city. I did finally get into the city, but after getting my rear handed to me 5 times in a row on my first 'mission'--even with the two new people added to the team? I was done--at least until I forget about that incident. I also got ticked when I found out, as a female dwarf, I wasn't allowed to have a romantic relationship with anyone. WTF, game developers? No love for dwarves?]
-Fallout's 1, 2, and 3(which....I have no excuse for. I was given all 3 Fallout's on a flash drive, months ago, and I just haven't sat down to play it yet)
I also play a slew of phone games--Fruit Ninja, Sushi Cat, Words with Friends, any of the Pinball games(I found a zombie-themed one!), and a few online flash games to waste time. I have a little folder bookmarked for when I get bored.
I have also sat idly by while friends wasted multiple hours on Morrowind, Oblivion, and Mass Effect 1 and 2, and recently on CoD and other shooty killy games. I eventually may check out Mass Effect.
Also, is it just me, or does every video game turn every one into a hoarder?
"No, I need this feather! It may be useful later!"
Minecraft Especially. I've gotten to the point where I just have chests peppered everywhere. MMO's make me pretty bad about it as well.
