I'm just curious to know, does anyone here primarily listen to Video Game Music besides me? If so, what are some of your soundtracks and from what video games in particular? Also, feel free to provide links you wish share with the members of this discussion.

I agree, Jesper Kyd produces some exquisite, enthralling music. I especially I'm fond of the music form Sub Terrania, Hitman: Contracts, and Hitman: Blood Money. I listen to various music from the The Legend of Zelda series. The Hidden Village from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and the Shadow Temple Theme from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time are two of my favorites.
I visit a variety of different websites such as http://www.GalbadiaHotel.com/, http://Downloads.KHInsider.com/, http://www.OCRemix.org/, and video game forums.
No I haven't, but are you listened to the Palace Theme from Zelda II: The Adventure of Link?

Another Demiworld from the YAKUZA 3 Original Soundtrack

I have 42 gigs of Final Fantasy music. Made a playlist of all the major soundtracks(FF-FF XII) 852 tracks of fun.

So much good stuff out there. Always loved the entire Ocarina of Time OST... favorite track is probably Kepora Gebora's theme (that owl thing that liked to interrupt gameplay every once in a while).

Also like a lot of the older stuff... Megaman X soundtrack, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, and Battletoads: Double Dragon theme song, just to name a few. Also loved the Goldeneye and Perfect Dark soundtracks. The OST for Bully on PS2 is great too, very well done.

There is a discussion room called Video Game Music on the p2p client SoulSeek... you can get it at www.slsknet.org. It's not as active as it used to be but there are always still folks in there and a few have great VGM OST collections.

I did a cover of the Dr. Mario Fever theme a while back... if I can track down the mp3 I'll post it here!

It's adventitious that you should reference the GoldenEye 007 Original Soundtrack. Because incidentally, I have uploaded a video clip with the theme from the Mutiplayer Beta Testing Level known as "Citadel. This map was not released in the final version.

Just found it:

It's a bit odd but I had fun making it.

I compose video game music, but I listen more to film music and classical, mainly because I like the sound of a real orchestra. I'm also kind of purist in that when I find out a composer uses ghostwriters, I never listen to them again. So besides classical, there are only a few composers I'll listen to. I'm also pretty purist when it comes to style. I really get turned off by fusion of dance/rock/techno with orchestra.

i mostly listen to final fantasy music, especially FFVII thru FFX...

i like a lot of old nintendo music too, somewhat from teh nostalgia factor but even some music from classic games i've played as an adult (like zelda link to the past) have stuck with me

of course my actual favorite music is... hard to say, i love rock but i'm pretty open to all good sounds and i love orchestrated music in general
