I first put this discussion up on "Atheist News", but seeing as how it's about a video game series, I thought it might do better here.
Here's the gyst: the Saudi government has banned all Pokemon products from their country because they claim it "promotes Zionism and gambling". Come on, Pokemon doesn't even promote evolution very well and that's what the series is all about anyway.

That is terrible that they would ban it. Thanks for the article link -- here is what their government gave as a reason for it. Sounds dumb to me.
The religious edict issued over the weekend said the Pokemon video game and cards have symbols that include "the star of David, which everyone knows is connected to international Zionism and is Israel's national emblem".
