Sex sells. When going for the prepubescent, geek fanboys. Hell, with most males. Unfortunate, but some truth to it. I'd personally would have liked to see the shuttle that Kirk and crew were flying. Rumor has it that the name is S.S. Takei. Would like to see to have that confirmed. Great homage, if true. Oh Myyyy!
