Maybe Hawaii will be next on the marriage equality express.  Or not.  It's been pointed out that a special session for that bill would cost every man, woman, and child in Hawaii 1.9¢.  That's a lot of copper.

Soon.....   Texas?  Well, maybe not.  But New Mexico...

I had a conversation with a pediatrician in my health plan, regarding whether the plan supports surgery for intersex infants.  He said they do not, unless the genitals are shaped in a way that does not allow urinary function or hygiene, and so would interfere with health or endanger the child.  I was happy to hear that.

I wanted to advocate for resources for parents of intersex children, to support allowing the child to develop however their body intends.  Rather than surgically modifying the child to fit into an ignorant society.  He said they already have such support.  I was glad to hear that.

Susan, if the presence of intersex humans makes ignorant catholic heads explode, then by all means let's educate them.  I'll just wear protective gear - please, no brains splattered on my clean shirt!

I am sure the very thought of intersex makes their heads explode.

Germany added an option for Intersex as gender on birth certificates.  We need to do this in the US, and everywhere else.

Not surprising, US Catholics oppose the law.

Like a virus, or kudzu, gay marriage continues to spread.  Now it's spread to a second New Mexico county.

The map in the linked article is kind of depressing.  But it will continue to evolve.

Great job by reporter Jamie Kirchick on RT (Russia Today).

The Box Turtle Bulletin has a followup on what happened to Kirchick after his television interview which, by the way, was in Stockholm.  It seems the Russian government has long tentacles.

He has since said the taxi driver in the car he was in on his way to the airport in Sweden when the taxi driver received a phone call instructing him to drop Kirchick off at the side of the road.

“So about halfway down the highway on the way to the airport, my driver gets a phone call from his boss saying that the car ride has been cancelled and that he’ll have to drop me off on the side of the road,” he said.

“And I told him that I would pick up the tab. But at the end, actually, at the airport, he said that the ride was free, so maybe we have some anti-Putin activists in the Swedish taxi company.”

Several posts here - hope that's not too much at one time. This reporter bowled me over in a good way.

I'm not demonstrative but this made me want to cheer.

Marriage equality battle moves to New Mexico, with a twist.

"the state's marriage statutes are gender neutral and do not expressly prohibit Doña Ana County from issuing marriage licenses to same-gender couples."
