To be honest I'm surprised by the amount of patience Maddow had for a man who essentially thinks it's okay for her to be murdered by the state.

Gary thanks for the update. Looks like he's still in the US and might have an interview with Rachel Maddow.

NEWS FLASH. Bahati rejected.

David Bahati denied entrance to Washington DC conference
Posted on December 7th, 2010 by Warren

http://wthrockmorton.com/2010/12/07/david-bahati-denied-entrance-to...

Doug Hadden, spokesman for the International Consortium of Governmental Financial Management, just informed me that David Bahati, author of Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Bill attempted to enter the financial management conference this morning, saying:

He arrived mid morning and was informed of the decision. It turns out that we didn’t have his proper e-mail address for his phone. There was a frank but calm discussion and Mr. Bahati was not able to enter the building.

Mr. Hadden is referring to the decision to bar Bahati from the ICGFM conference going on now in Washington, DC.

DAVID BAHATI the UGANDAN MP – Author of KILL the GAYS BILL IS in D.C. lezgetreal

What is most insidious is the likelihood that Bahati’s ultimate intent and plan in being here in the US is to garner support of his US collaborators , which include specific Evangelical co-conspirators, to support his run for the next Ugandan Parliament, for a campaign based very much on the Kill Gay Hate Bill that he has already introduced to the Ugandan Parliament

See the link for more info. This disgusting evil man and his hatemongering evangelical coconspirators make me feel sick. Which is what they want.

Dale, cute video. Thanks for posting it!

Another topic, sort of.... How adults in authority treat gay teens -

Gay and lesbian teens in the United States are about 40% more likely than their straight peers to be punished by schools, police and the courts, according to a study published Monday, which finds that girls are especially at risk for unequal treatment. Washington Post.

FREE KITTENS

A little girl named Suzy was standing on the sidewalk in front of her home. Next to her was a basket containing a number of tiny creatures; in her hand was a sign announcing FREE KITTENS. Suddenly a line of big black cars pulled up beside her. Out of the lead car stepped a grinning woman.

"Hi there little girl, I'm Sarah Palin. What do you have in the basket?" she asked.

"Kittens," little Suzy said.

"How old are they?" asked Palin.

Suzy replied, "They're so young, their eyes aren't even open yet."

"And what kind of kittens are they?"

"Tea Party," answered Suzy with a smile.

Palin was delighted. As soon as she returned to her car, she called her PR chief and told him about the little girl and the kittens. Recognizing the perfect photo op, the two agreed that the former governor should return the next day; and in front of the assembled media, have the girl talk about her discerning kittens.

So the next day, Suzy was again standing on the sidewalk with her basket of "FREE KITTENS," when another motorcade pulled up, this time followed by vans from ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN. Cameras and audio equipment were quickly set up, then Palin got out of her limo and walked over to little Suzy.

"Hello, again,"she said, "I'd love it if you would tell all my friends out there what kind of kittens you're giving away."

"Yes ma'am," Suzy said. "They're Democrats."

Taken by surprise, Palin stammered, "But... but... yesterday, you told me they were TEA PARTY."

Little Suzy smiled and said, "I know. But today, they have their eyes open."

Illinois State House passes Civil Unions legislation. Next to the state senate. chicago.cbslocal.com this is still opposed by socially conservative religious groups. By socially conservative, I think we basically mean antigay.

"Opponents argue civil unions are just same-sex marriage by a different name. They say Illinois shouldn’t take any step in that direction.

Civil unions would provide legal recognition of gay couples and give them some of the same benefits automatically available to married couples – the right to visit a sick partner in the hospital and make decisions about their medical care, for instance....

... backers think the Senate quickly would follow suit and Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn would sign it into law."

One state at a time, one small step at a time, a couple steps forward and a stap back. That's the process.

from trans.ilga.org

By accident of birth, some of us are so fortunate. When I look back over my life and think about the pain of growing up, the grief of the worst of the AIDS era, then the slow progress of today, sometimes I feel very blue. The looking at this map, I think "I'm so lucky". There are so many places where life is much more harsh for us.
