Sentient - that would explain a great deal about the Supreme Court! It's probably no accident that we've never seen any of Scalia's or Thomas's poetry. They want to keep their law clerks alive. :-)

I also welcome you back among the living.  As one of the oldest (because I have outlived most of my friends) I can attest to the fact that getting old aint for wimps.  May you also reach a grand old age.

Daniel, I am so happy to read your post! Goodness, so much tissue gone. I don't know any remedies for hiccups that work, sorry. Up and walking is the best news of all. Do take good care of yourself and send notes when you feel like it. We all shared anxiety over how you are doing and just seeing your name this morning made my day. 
Will you be expecting weight loss with part of your stomach gone? I will think positive thoughts that you recover quickly and without pain.

Hey all... Back on my feet now. The surgeon took a chunk of stomach, a big tumor and a thin slice of liver. I am up walking around now.hiccups hurt like hell, Ow! Back io the routine soon. ThaNks for the well wishes it matters a lot!

Throughout the years we have often referred to the Supreme Court in terms of being more Liberal or more Conservative, but the fact is the Supreme Court, overall, tends to lean conservatively.  To be blunt, the Supreme Court is not a progressive institution.

Yes, and we all know how Scalia is going to vote on the issue.
