I would LOVE to go to the march. I want to dress as my favorite upright biblical man of god, and hold up a sign stating "i support bible based marriage". I could be Abraham, and have companions dressed as Sarah and Hagar, ot Lot and have companions dressed as his 2 daughters; David surrounded by dizens of wives, ditto for Solomon. Was it Isiah with two sister wives?

That would be hilarious and fun! I would not disagree with the protesters- just support them with the true and holy bible rightous examples.

Thanks for that video, Daniel!

Bertold, "Sanctity of Marriage Alabama", on their Facebook page, is unwittingly demonstrating the parallel between racial discrimination and gender and sexual-orientation discrimination, the parallel they and NOM are denying:

(Left side) In 1963, it was a Civil Rights issue and Alabama was wrong (Right side) In 2015, it is a Moral issue and Alabama is right (Bottom) Those who stand on God's Law will be on the right side of history (Left side background: black-and-white photo of white protesters [in front of Little Rock, Ark. state capitol, c.1959] holding signs, "RACE MIXING is COMMUNISM", "STOP the race mixing - march of the [ANTI]CHRIST".) (Right side background: color photo of about eight protesters holding signs, "PROTECT GOD'S DESIGN FOR MARRIAGE", "MARRIAGE = 1 MAN + 1 WOMAN".) (Left side bible quotes) "God created man in his own image." Genesis 1:27 - "There is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all." Romans 10:12 (Right side bible quotes) "...male and female He created them." Genesis 1:27 - "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination." Leviticus 18:22(They're also demonstrating their religiously-based animus, which will look really good to the Supreme Court! :-)

The National Organization for Marriage is planning a massive "march on Washington" in April, and they've sent out a fundraising invitation letter to the nation comparing this effort to the original 1963 march for equal rights, replete with attempts at comparing their own efforts to those of MLK.

I can't promise you that we will have a historic speech like Dr. King's "I have a dream" speech, nor can I promise you 250,000 people will come to Washington, but I can promise you this: we will march for a true and just cause, for the civil right of Americans to enjoy the benefits of natural marriage, the union of one man and one woman, the foundation of society and the cradle of civilization.

. . . . You see, this is our last, best chance to demonstrate to the justices of the United States Supreme Court that the American people are opposed to redefining marriage and will not sit idly by while the elite and unaccountable judges rip marriage from the social foundations of society.

Added a nice video to the txt box.  Lot of truth in that video, and sweet to boot.

Mr. Brautigan, the species is Homo sexual.  That's different from the species Homo sapiens.

Mr. Cat, that's probably one of the few times that the voter count issue acted in our favor.  Although, I recall many elections were "protect us from the homos" was a major push to get the xenophobes to the ballot.  If my faulty memory serves, something to the effect of Karl Rove's "God, guns, and gays" campaign strategy.  Maybe Slovaks are too lazy for that to work, or maybe they are not as homophobic as Americans are.

Yes, our man Frankie also just appointed a slew of new rabidly homophobic cardinals. I guess he hasn't seen The Birdcage.

The anti-equality referendum in Slovakia (which would have also banned adoption by same-sex couples, and allowed parents to remove their children from sex education) failed spectacularly, with only 21% of eligible voters casting ballots.

In Slovakia a referendum vote is binding only with a turnout of at least 50%. LGBT-rights groups had urged opponents of the referendum to stay home for that reason.

(Of course, the heterosexist supremacists are probably trumpeting the 90-95% yes votes among those people who did show up. And now, more than ever before, we've seen the new Pope's true colors.)

The U.S. State Department is planning to appoint a special envoy "to advocate for the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people overseas." [Boston Globe] Legislation to accomplish this was introduced in Congress last week. Representative Chris Smith, R NJ, head of the subcommittee over human rights and international organizations, said "I am a strong believer in traditional marriage and I do not construe homosexual rights as human rights."

That would clearly entail the contention that homosexuals are therefore not humans. Gee, I wonder what species he thinks we belong to???

I would think the pope would be more against heterosexual marriage, then.  They are too waskally to trust.  Even so, he's come out officially against marriage equality in Slovakia.

Why Pope Fudd thinks he should have a role in Slovakia politicsis beyond me.

Comment by Bertold Brautigan on February 5, 2015 at 8:23pm

The Bible contains six admonishments to homosexuals and 362 admonishments to heterosexuals. That doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals. It's just that they need more supervision.
