NOM, the "National Organization for Marriage", the biggest of the Catholic funded hate groups opposing marriage equality, has a slick new ad for their march on Washington DC.

They are trying really hard to make their effort to, oppose civil rights for LGBT people, to look like the civil rights movement of the 60s.

I do feel like people shouldn't go after bakers and wedding photographers.  It makes them into martyrs.   They are not essential services.  Going after them gives ammunition to people like NOM.  Certainly, no one is discriminating against NOM's freedom of speech.

One of many versions...with "Tubby" Rove as the man behind the curtain:

Ya mean "W" has graduated from Crayolas?

I willhave to remember that expression when referring to obnoxious people. "I hear george W bush has become a painter now, bless his heart!"

Yeah, it is...usually when referring to someone who isn't quite "all there."  (For some odd reason, there were a large number [about 8 out of a total of 30] of other chorus girls who were all from Atlanta when I was in Holiday.  I used to hear that quite a bit.)

And in the South, I hear that saying, "Well bless your heart" is a veiled insult.

Dear Sentient, I think it was George Bernard Shaw who said that the most insulting (or worst) thing you can say about a person is that they "mean well."

Carl great video. Shows we still have a long way to go.

Sometimes people are well meaning. Someone new at work asked about my wife and .i corrected and said husband... He said Oh cool....i was kind of put off, i dont tell straight people oh cool you are straight! But still he was being positive and supportive so I took it in the spirit intended.
