James, isn't it the truth? Christians are very selective in their reading of their reference book and guide, "the bible". Many also pray in public, eat nonkosher foods, work on saturday, wear mixed fabrics, take the lord's name in vain, and other offences.

Actually, I don't think that either Yahweh or Jesus preached compassion for everyone. I could be wrong about that, but I think the main point of the bible is retribution.

Dale - I agree wholeheartedly. We need to open an "ex-straight" ministry. We need to spread the word. "Wake up America!"

Comment I posted at 365Gay.com re: the group that wants same sex people to be executed per Leviticus:

Wait a minute. Am I missing something? The noose sign people quote the Leviticus Cafeteria for the proposition that gays should be executed? Wasn't there some prophet who came along and saved whores from death by stoning? Didn't he preach compassion for everyone, and doesn't the Declaration of Independence state that all were created equal (language not qualified by exclusion of gays). These people are not just homophobic, they are lapsed Christians with an anti-American agenda.

"Repeal Of 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' Paves Way For Gay Sex Right On Battlefield, Opponents Fantasize" from america's greatest news source, theonion.com

"WASHINGTON—As Congress prepares to allow gay individuals to serve openly in the military, those against the proposed change voiced their concerns Monday, warning the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" could soon lead to strong, strapping American soldiers engaging in mind-blowing homosexual intercourse right on the battlefield."

This article is correct. When I was a recruit, fresh off the farm, shipped to boot camp at Fort Polk Louisiana, I learned about things that would have scared the animals big-time back on the back 40 acres. And I LIKED what I learned.

""The last thing I need after a 12-hour reconnaissance patrol is to know I'm hitting the showers with some guy who might be checking me out and who might, after seeing what I have to work with, find himself wondering if I too long for the firm yet tender embrace of another man," Army Cpl. Dale Montgomery said."

Excuse me, I have to go now. Read the rest of the article at the link to theonion.com

I posted this song because the Ted Haggard song has already been posted.

BMA is making an awful lot of sense lately

Hopefully, anyone involved in the so-called treatment of homosexuality will realize that the medical profession considers them dangerous charlatans, and will reconsider their beliefs. I also sincerely hope that any vulnerable gay person who is unhappy about their sexuality takes notice of this motion and realizes that it is the world that needs to change, not them.

Gary - what do you think - should LGBTQI Pride embrace the Palistinian cause? Other causes? Which ones? I'm not offerring an opinion, just asking a question.

Was there representation by/for Palestinian LGBTQI people? What is their status in the Palestinian territories? Would that, or other Arab or Muslim LGBTQI cause be more welcome at the pride event?

Here is one reference, from the Advocate: "The abusive treatment of gays by the Palestinian Authority--which does not differ much from the abusive treatment of gays in most other Arab and Muslim societies--is conclusively documented. Take just one story—in the May 2003 issue of Gay & Lesbian Review Worldwide by Charity Crouse (who is described in the story as a “Jewish lesbian anti-occupation activist”). Tarek, a young Palestinian gay man suspected of homosexuality, was sentenced to a “reeducation” camp run by Muslim clerics under Palestinian Authority jurisdiction. He said that for a period of two months he was “subjected to beatings with belts, clubs, and was forced to sit on bottles which were inserted into my rectum. I was hanged by the hands, I was deprived of sleep, and when I finally did sleep, my limbs were tied to the floor.”

This could make a good topic for discussion. If (and it's a big if) support for the Palestinian cause, is also support for persecution of LGBTQI Palestinians - what decision does one make?

I don't know.
