A couple of years ago I printed some of these and made a collage. Even if they are not all lovers, it is wonderful to see affection between men. American society frowns on such affection. They make me smile and yet are sad at the same time. Sometimes love is difficult to find, especially being an atheist. People pre-judge you and will not even explore who you are. I have a full life of family, friends, hobbies, gardening, many pets, and yet miss sharing who I am with someone special.

Some beautiful old photos. You don't see photos like these very often. Thanks for sharing them.

Orange, that was beautiful. I don't know it all of those images are of same-gender-love, but some probably are. Some may be buddies, some may be brothers, some may be joking. Even so, they are beautiful. I wish life were as romantic as some of those photos.

Counseling student sues university for right to be a bigot - "A student at Augusta State University has sued the school because it has allegedly asked her to alter her Christian beliefs (i.e., not advocate gay conversion therapy) before allowing her to graduate from its counseling program." more here. I couldn't embed the video. She wants to be able to use her biblical beleifs as a school counselor.

Lovely news report - no mention at all of the effects of what it will mean when a LGBT student goes to their homophobic bigot counselor for help, or when a nontheist student goes to their bible-quoting counselor. I have such faith in news reports now!

I received the following email from Equal Rights Washington, pertaining to WA state election

"On August 17th, we have a tremendous opportunity to unseat intolerant Justices Jim Johnson and Richard Sanders, who, in 2006, wrote devastating opinions that upheld Washington state's Defense of Marriage Act. Today is the anniversary of the decision of Andersen v. King County, and their opinions from the case have created years of setbacks in the struggle to attain marriage equality....

...Equal Rights Washington is an early endorser of two candidates we feel will return the court to a fair and ethical majority, Stan Rumbaugh and Charlie Wiggins.

I edited for brevity. It's hard to know where candidates stand on a variety of issues, so I thought I would pass this information on.

James, isn't it the truth? Christians are very selective in their reading of their reference book and guide, "the bible". Many also pray in public, eat nonkosher foods, work on saturday, wear mixed fabrics, take the lord's name in vain, and other offences.

Actually, I don't think that either Yahweh or Jesus preached compassion for everyone. I could be wrong about that, but I think the main point of the bible is retribution.

Dale - I agree wholeheartedly. We need to open an "ex-straight" ministry. We need to spread the word. "Wake up America!"
