France Set To Deport Gay Cameroonian Tomorrow

In January, Honoré arrived in France after fleeing from his homeland in Cameroon. He is scheduled to be deported to Cameroon because he did not automatically apply for asylum on the grounds of being gay in Cameroon would lead to him being persecuted. He did not know that he could do that. On 12 September, he was scheduled to be deported in handcuffs and shackles, but the pilot of the plane refused to do so.

Lovely place, France. So tolerant. Good thing I'm not planning any European vacations to Paris or something.

Hi Daniel,
Just got your email. Thanks for the notification and the improvements to the site. It's been a busy summer, but I will try to check in more frequently. All the best to everyone.

Being gay is a crime in more than 70 countries. Huff post. Actually 76 coutries. Can link through to original article. Makes me feel fortunate.

Bollyood's first big gay movie: "For the first time, a mainstream Indian film portrays a homosexual relationship in a serious light, writes AKASH ARORA. Indian film director Sanjay Sharma is a religious man. This becomes obvious when you dial his Mumbai mobile number and, instead of a ring, you hear Om Bhur Bhuva Swaha – a devotional song played in Hindu temples during prayers." read article here.

Daniel the Apostate mentioned the futility of trying to persuade the stupid.
This reminds me of an old campaign legend from the days when the Democrat Adlai Stevenson was running against Republican Dwight D. Eisenhower (this was back in the days when Republicans were more human and reasonable and fiscal conservative "mind your own business" liberals and more isolationist.) Anyway, as the story goes...
Adlai Stevenson was giving a stump speech to a large crowd under a large shade tree in a public park, someplace in the vast openness of the Midwest (USA).
Stevenson said, "Every intelligent man will vote for me," to which a man near the front of the outdoor audience replied, "Mr. Stevenson, that's unfortunate, because you will need the majority to win!"

Parden the sexist language but those were those times.
