Doug Hadden, spokesman for the International Consortium of Governmental Financial Management, just informed me that David Bahati, author of Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Bill attempted to enter the financial management conference this morning, saying:

He arrived mid morning and was informed of the decision. It turns out that we didn’t have his proper e-mail address for his phone. There was a frank but calm discussion and Mr. Bahati was not able to enter the building.

Mr. Hadden is referring to the decision to bar Bahati from the ICGFM conference going on now in Washington, DC.

What is most insidious is the likelihood that Bahati’s ultimate intent and plan in being here in the US is to garner support of his US collaborators , which include specific Evangelical co-conspirators, to support his run for the next Ugandan Parliament, for a campaign based very much on the Kill Gay Hate Bill that he has already introduced to the Ugandan Parliament

FREE KITTENS

A little girl named Suzy was standing on the sidewalk in front of her home. Next to her was a basket containing a number of tiny creatures; in her hand was a sign announcing FREE KITTENS. Suddenly a line of big black cars pulled up beside her. Out of the lead car stepped a grinning woman.

"Hi there little girl, I'm Sarah Palin. What do you have in the basket?" she asked.

"Kittens," little Suzy said.

"How old are they?" asked Palin.

Suzy replied, "They're so young, their eyes aren't even open yet."

"And what kind of kittens are they?"

"Tea Party," answered Suzy with a smile.

Palin was delighted. As soon as she returned to her car, she called her PR chief and told him about the little girl and the kittens. Recognizing the perfect photo op, the two agreed that the former governor should return the next day; and in front of the assembled media, have the girl talk about her discerning kittens.

So the next day, Suzy was again standing on the sidewalk with her basket of "FREE KITTENS," when another motorcade pulled up, this time followed by vans from ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN. Cameras and audio equipment were quickly set up, then Palin got out of her limo and walked over to little Suzy.

"Hello, again,"she said, "I'd love it if you would tell all my friends out there what kind of kittens you're giving away."

"Yes ma'am," Suzy said. "They're Democrats."

Taken by surprise, Palin stammered, "But... but... yesterday, you told me they were TEA PARTY."

Little Suzy smiled and said, "I know. But today, they have their eyes open."

Illinois State House passes Civil Unions legislation. Next to the state senate. chicago.cbslocal.com this is still opposed by socially conservative religious groups. By socially conservative, I think we basically mean antigay.

When I look back over my life and think about the pain of growing up, the grief of the worst of the AIDS era, then the slow progress of today, sometimes I feel very blue. The looking at this map, I think "I'm so lucky". There are so many places where life is much more harsh for us.

Britain's education department is to look at how it can check Islamic weekend schools after the BBC reported it had uncovered more than 40 of them teaching anti-Semitic views and extreme punishment for sodomy and theft.

The BBC said its "Panorama" program, which will air on Monday evening, had found a network of weekend Islamic schools in Britain were teaching children how to chop off the hands of thieves, that Zionists are trying to take over the world and that sodomy is punishable by death.

Currently the government does not regulate weekend, part-time teaching centres.

The Department for Education said it could not allow anti-Semitic material in English schools and that the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills (Ofsted), which inspects schools, was looking into how to monitor the part-time centres. ...

NY Times Pentagon Sees Little Impact if Ban on Gays Is Repealed

It's reassuring to know that US soldiers, marines, and sailors are not so delicate that they'll faint or run screaming if they run into a gay person.
