Actually the etymology for the word marriage is of Latin origin. The implication was of a male's dominance when selecting a concubine for the sole purpose of rendering an offspring, particularily a male, thereby perpetuating the man's lineage. Furthermore, it was common for men to share sexual experiences with other men regerdless of their matrimonial status. So realistically the fight for gay unions in the context marriage is not necessarily about fighting for the privilege to marry as much as it is deemed a social status which carries with it privileges which are denied to others. This country has unjustifiably granted favortism to heterosexual married couples with children crossing the invisible line between church and state.

I think yall are taking the pic all wrong. I would expect the most practical interpretation is that both are single straight men who want to marry women. I've seen paper moon photos like that before with only one man or woman in the shot. But then, you never can tell. I refuse to totally rain on this parade:)

well.. as non-theists.. im not sure why we would want "marriage" to begin with since the word in and of itself is religious (biblical even I believe) in origin

Kind of makes wonder how long the struggle for marriage equality has been going on.

It's really heartwarming.

Daniel, I can't know with any certainty, but it was on a page with a bunch of "strange historical photographs." They all looked real, and untouched. I am assuming it is genuine.

Dallas, is that for real, or a modern staging, or photoshopped? It looks for real. In which case it's awesome.

Sorry Eric. Try going to the Youtube page and see if you can make it work. I don't know anything about that stuff.
