Sentinent did Tennessee recently pass a bill similar to the Miss.bill?

I read somewhere Tenn. had passed a similar bill & at the time it was waiting for the Governors' signature.

I would appreciate feed back. Thanks !!

Sentient, I'll bring the marshmallows if someone else will bring the chocolate bars.  (If we can't build a campfire, we can always nuke them....verrrry carefully!)

Carl what a touching response. Somewhere I read one of the drams-addicted, self appointed right eing christian pundits decrying graham crackers. I think I'll buy some this weekeng

I was homesick for a glimpse of the Pacific as much as turned off by the idea of a prison tour.

Opting to see Gidget was definitely the better choice!

My introduction to the charms of Alabama was opening my suitcase in Birmingham, and being confronted with a cockroach that could only have come from the last town we had played - Montgomery.

Plus, the state government in Montgomery offered our company a tour of the state prison as an "entertainment."  My roommates and I went to see "Gidget" instead.  THAT's how long ago it was.

Steph, as far ad I know, no protests. I imagine there will be something.

Mississippi and Alabama have so little to offer. Anti immigrant feeling is also very strong. I think the should combine the 2 states, throuw in Arkansas as a boobie prize, and name their region 'Xenophobia". Except they could neither spell nor pronounce it.

In what way is that bill different from the old Jim Crow laws?  I was touring the South off and on from 1957 to June 1960 (we also played more civilized states), and the things I saw were unbelievable.  Tacky burger joints like White Castle were too "refined" to even let the descendants of slaves buy cheap take-out burgers at the counter...let alone sit down with the white customers, they had to go to the kitchen door.  In other words, businesses were saying, "Your money is accepted here, but you're NOT."

Or signs that said "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone."  Meaning, "NO ni****s allowed."

Sound like the KKK is alive and well in Mississippi (and Alabama.)
