High school senior comes out as LGBT while accepting award
Coming out as LGBT is rarely easy, which makes Jacob Rudolph's story all the more impressive. When the high school student in Parsippany, N.J., came out, he did so in front of the entire school. His classmates responded with a standing ovation.
Comment by Sentient Biped on January 23, 2013 at 8:43am The amazing thing is this isn't The Onion. I think.
Yes, that's why they call them "fruit juice" boxes.
Comment by Sentient Biped on January 22, 2013 at 8:33pm Finally, the long sought after answer, to the age old mystery. What is the cause of homosexuality?
Homosexuality is caused by Juice Boxes. As part of a government plot to make the USA a homosexual nation.
He's sure worked up about this.
That probably doesn't explain Oscar Wilde, or Sir Roger Casement, or Gertrude Stein. But maybe - Juice Boxes might be older than we think.
I'm still trying to figure out the cause of Heterosexuality. No one is working on that one. I think it's dioxin.

State by state. Bit by bit. Inch by inch. Millimeter by millimeter. Two steps forward. One step back. It's gone far better than I ever remotely expected, in my lifetime. On the other hand, I thought Illinois was moving faster than it did. Once commenter noted, no word about the French counter-equality efforts. One youtube-cast can't cover everything. I was disappointed by the French demostrations, but recalling the Catholic Church still has an antigay obsession going. Some good news from one of the current "battleground states" would be welcome indeed!

Comment by Sentient Biped on January 16, 2013 at 6:02pm Carl,
My wild guess, which might very well be wrong, is there israpid growth of religion with evangelism in China. Religion, especially Christianity, is so very, very seductive.
Comment by The Flying Atheist on January 16, 2013 at 11:46am I have to say, in the second video about the proposed anti-discrimination law, I am rather surprised that the religious crowd who oppose this law and want to protect 'traditional values' seem to be relatively young. It's not the usual grey-haired, elderly community you see here in the U.S. I would have expected the younger generation to be clamoring for progress, especially in Hong Kong and China. It was, however, nice to see a counter-protest with visible gay activists.

Comment by Sentient Biped on January 12, 2013 at 11:16pm Thousands of Europeans having panic attacks at thought of marriage equality. Paris no longer "city of love", more like "city of people worked up over their own stupidity". And 1000 priests in UK claim marriage equality is the greatest threat to religious freedom since the reformation. OK, that last is priests, what do we expect. Well, before the reformation, the catholic theocracy wasn't exactly singing kumbaya with heretics, but todays' priests aren't going to remind us of that.
What is it about being gay that drives people into a tizzy? I hate to say it, but such ridiculous nitwits.
