Real Christians Say 'No' to Bullying and Homosexual Behavior

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 27 /Christian Newswire/ -- A coalition of pro-family leaders today urges Christian families to be faithful to biblical morality and discerning in the face of false and irresponsible accusations. Christianity and traditional values are not the cause of teen suicides, and attempts to link the two are deceptive and will ultimately harm children.

"Gay" activists nationwide are fueling an effort to indict traditional moral values as "guilty until proven innocent" in some bullying incidents involving teens. Their proposed solutions end up sexualizing teens at young ages into known high-risk behaviors and silencing concerned parents.

Now, the U.S. Department of Education seems to be joining the effort, setting the stage for implicating traditional morality as the cause of some cases of bullying, and using the force of federal government to force pro-homosexual, pro-"transgender" indoctrination programs onto local schools.

"Just say no" to these outrageous and unsubstantiated claims, said Buddy Smith, Executive Vice President, American Family Association (www.afa.net). "Bullying can be prevented without endorsing homosexual behavior. Activist adults essentially are saying that American parents who want their kids to avoid high risk homosexual sex acts and remain abstinent until traditional marriage, are harming kids. This is preposterous, and local parents and communities need to resist enforced political correctness."

Authentic Christians will remember several key concepts from Scripture:

1. Homosexual behavior is always a sin, God's plan for sexuality is male/female marriage, and God has not changed His mind about this (Genesis 19; Leviticus 18:22; Matthew 19:4-6; Romans 1:24-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11)

2. Jesus described marriage as the union of one man and one woman, and that humans were created male and female "from the beginning." Gender change is a defiant and ungrateful sin against God's direction and design (Matthew 19:4-6)

3. Violence against children is wrong. Jesus was very clear in his protection of children and also had harsh words for those who would forbid children from knowing His truth and love ( Luke 17:2; Luke 18: 15-16). "Gay" activists want to keep children from knowing, loving and following the real Jesus Christ. At the very least, schools must not interfere in the desires of parents to raise their own children to follow Christ and live out biblical morality.

4. School boards aid child corruption and insult faithful families when they allow "gay-straight alliances," homosexual indoctrination programs, permission for use of opposite sex restrooms, and any of the other ridiculous demands of the "gay" lobby.

"None of this is related to the real issue of bullying," said Linda Harvey, president of Mission America (www.missionamerica.com), who has been monitoring the homosexual agenda directed to youth for fifteen years." Any incidents of bullying and name-calling can be punished without forcing acceptance of offensive behaviors. Communities must not allow themselves to be manipulated into supporting pro-homosexual bullying prevention plans, and believers in Jesus Christ need to stand up against this corruption of youth.

"Traditional morality is not responsible for harassing speech. Are healthy nutrition programs or the First Lady's anti-obesity initiative responsible for slurs and insults to overweight students? Of course not," Harvey said. "Bullies act for a variety of reasons, and schools need to punish the behaviors, not become the thought police. Administrators who use good judgment will refuse to aid and abet false accusations."

"It's time that extremists stop exploiting tragedy to push a selfish political agenda," said J. Matt Barber, Director of Cultural Affairs of Liberty Counsel (www.lc.org). "Liberal pressure groups have been shameless. They use talk of 'bullying' as a Trojan Horse to silence traditional values. Ironically, this unseemly political push actually amounts to 'Bull Connor bullying' on the part of homosexual activists."

In case it wasn't obvious, this election was a setback for LGBT equality. Well, at least O'Donnell was defeated in Delaware, so Onansexuals will continue to have masturbation rights.

The following is a comment I wrote on the atheist meet-up site, concerning the election results. A member wrote about how this is like going back to the 1860's. What follows is my comments:

Yes, and I put much of the blame for this on the Democrats.

Peggy and I were having a discussion at the last meet-up. For example, I having been complaining for a while about how Obama has not used an executive order to halt "Don't ask-Don't tell" while we are waiting for it to be overturned. Peggy was telling me that the administration recently claims that there are reasons why the President can not give such an executive order. My response, which we both agreed upon, was that if this is the truth, then why haven't we heard about this all along? If true, blame the system, blame the republicans, but don't leave your supporters to feel disgruntled, frustrated, and as if they lack representation and that you have lied to them.

The lack of communication from this administration, (appearing on the Daily Show was too little-too late), and the constant sound bites of "yes we can" and "reaching across the aisle" have left people disheartened and apathetic.

Combine this with many of us struggling to pay bills and the loss of jobs, and it was only inevitable that many Democrats would not bother to vote.

So now we face a situation where it will be extremely difficult to get anything progress accomplished. Don't worry about gaining more civil rights; we will be lucky to keep much of what we already have in place.

Is the Democratic Party (and yes I am a member) so ignorant of history and human nature, that they couldn't see what the election results would be, until the last minute?

You know, I can't stop caring about atheist rights, separation of state/church, animal welfare, protecting the environment, protection of women's rights, protection of gay people, education, abortion choice, product safety, and so on, but today I feel as if I just want to hide out here in the country, with my plants and pets, and hope the rest of the world leaves me alone.

That feeling is only momentary until the next violation of our rights gets me upset. The problem is that standing up to your enemies can fuel your activism, but the lack of support from your own, just makes you want to sometimes hide from the world.

And no, I don't see any of the minority parties as viable alternatives, either philosophically or in practicality.

We only have a little over two years remaining, until we possible welcome Sarah Palin to the White House. As much as I hate her, I will give her credit for one thing, she has much bigger balls than President Obama.

Dominic, about 95% of your words are almost identical to my thoughts. Interesting!

On election day 2008, when President Obama (and the Democrat party) came out way ahead, I literally cried. I don't even cry at funerals or weddings. On the same day, I saw the rights of people just like me flushed down the toilet by "the people" of California, as the state famously known for liberal leanings (despite electing Reagan) voted in referrendum, that people like me are not equally human. Partly with the nonleadership of candidate Obama on LGBT issues, who was already playing a bit of a game with LGBT people, claiming to be for our rights while pandering to antigay sentiments of "one man and one woman". It's been bittersweet alternating with sweetbitter. Clearly the honeymoon is long over.

He did come out against antigay bullying in schools. I wanted to give credit where credit is due. However, I suspect even the pope would come aut against antigay bullying in school. I'm so glad that he's "leading" on that issue, which in our current social environment is like the caboose leading the train. (And isn't it amazing and wonderful that our current social environment actually IS significantly against atigay bullying in schools? When I was a teenager I was told to buck up, be a man, dont be a sissy, and if I couldn't defend myself I deserved to be beat up). He also came out fully against "don't ask / don't tell" - too little, too timidly, and too late. With some leadership in congress, those famous "community organizing skills" on this issue, would the democrats have controlled their circular firing squad tendencies and moved on the issue?

I do wonder about the 1860s comment. Are we now fighting the bloodiest war in out history and doing so on American soil? I'm not sure what, in 2010, is like the 1860s.

We ARE in a war but it's not exactly on most Americans' radar screen. Barely mentioned in this election - I saw no mention at all, just a lot of tea party buffoonery and democrat timidity.

Time to draft HIllary Clinton for 1012? Obama had the most enthusiastic support of the LGBT community, probably of any presidential candidate in our lifetimes if not in history. He has the most gay appointees of any president. (because he had the most gay applicants, and the most gay support? I don't know). Too bad he didn't embrace us.

Ah, the wonderful 1860s!
Also, I never supported Obama, until he was our only choice. Clinton was not the best supporter of the LGBT community that ever was, but i saw her as more of a fighter than Obama.
I saw many gay people and others fall into the trap of buying into his sound bites. He sounded like a minister to me. Now, many are disappointed. I predicted his lack of guts, but I hoped for more.

I think not all of my thoughts about Obama were fully rational and informed. Years ago, I went to a book reading by Andrew Sullivan. He spoke passionately about the rights for same sex marriage. That was the first time I had ever thought about the topic, never believing until then that it was even worth thinking about. I can't say that I agree with Sullivan about a lot, but when he was an early supporter, passionately, for Obama, I was swayed. I did think he was less experienced than Clinton, but he seemed more able to unite people in a cause; whether her own doing or not, the atmosphere around Clinton was more divisive. Because of that, I thought Obama was more electable, and coming into office on a tsunami of good will, and able to organize people incredibly well (witness his election juggernaut) would be able to get needed change into place.

I was wrong. I do wonder if he became more wimpified by re-election lust, and that wimpification might be his undoing.

As for FLorida, events and people there continue to amaze and horrify.
