SB, on 3/31 you posted a lesbian wedding video. I couldn't view it at the time, but later on I saw this one and for some reason assumed it was the same as you posted. I referenced this in a message to you the other day, but you may not have known what I was talking about. I just assumed. Here's a gay Jewish wedding video:
Comment by Sentient Biped on April 10, 2012 at 12:25pm Amazing! Or at least, odd!
Comment by David Philip Norris on April 10, 2012 at 10:42am Interesting. Matlovich's grave is in the same row as J. Edgar Hoover's.
Comment by Sentient Biped on April 10, 2012 at 10:23am Tony, thanks for telling your story. It's quite moving.
Comment by Tony Carroll on April 9, 2012 at 9:38pm SB, talk about life coincidences. I was stationed at Langley from '73-'77 and I took race relations under Tsgt. Matlovich. He made a good impression on me, and when he came out, I made a trip to the building he taught in, just to shake his hand and tell him I was behind him. And quess what? I wasn't the only one. Many, many people, still on active duty did. And almost all were straight. He knew he had the support of (most) of the troops there. Wow. Thanks for this, and for giving me a wonderful, beautiful trip through my memories of a truly great American. I was honored to have known him, even briefly, as our paths only crossed those two times. Again, thank you. Be well.

I don't know anyone who fits your bill, but Leonard Matlovich was one of my heros growing up. He's dead now.
Comment by Richard ∑wald on April 9, 2012 at 8:31pm This is important: From Justin Griffith's blog:
A trusted journalist asked me if I could put him in touch with any victims of discrimination from a specific era. Frankly, I’m not able to help!
"I’d love to connect with someone who received a “dishonorable” or “undesirable” discharge from the military for being gay. This was the standard procedure before the DADT policy was implemented — so ideally we’re looking for an openly gay WWII or Vietnam vet. Family members of the vet could also work.
Any ideas? Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!"
I know this guy has something up his sleeve that may actually result in real world change. It’s worth a shot, anyway. Please, if anybody knows a victim of this social injustice – please contact Justin Griffth.

Interesting article. Even though this is what we already thought, it's important to have actual data instead of just our instincts.
Comment by The Flying Atheist on April 8, 2012 at 9:55am Study: Some Homophobia is Self-phobia
It's often said that individuals who are homophobic or outwardly hostile toward gays are most likely conflicted and grappling with their own sexual orientation. I'm not sure if that assumption has been based on any past scientific studies, but now there is a recent study, about to be published, which apparently proves this notion. Also interesting is the added element of growing up in a household with "authoritarian parents" as opposed to "supportive and accepting parents."

Comment by Sentient Biped on April 8, 2012 at 9:21am Visions of "queer christ", crucified.
To me, talking about Jesus being gay is like discussing whether a character on Star Trek or Battlestar Gallactica was gay. Neither of those being especially inclusive either. But each to their own.
