Turkish Army: Prove you are gay!
To get out of service in the Turkish army, not only do you have to prove you are gay, but you have to be a bottom. Tops are considered straight. You have to bring in a porn photo of yourself getting.... well, you know.

I had no idea! Also the Ottoman Empire legalized gay sex in 1858 - and Texas still hasn't (just not enforcable, due to supreme court decision - but still illegal). 1858! And that's a muslim country!

I lived in Turkey for 18 months in when I was 20. Guys openly made passes at me all the time. I was so naive then - they had to be very blatant for me to figure it out. Who would have thought that Turkey was more progressive then than the US.
